    Default Most effective food?

Hey everyone, i'm new, pretty cool forum, wish i'd found it earlier

I'm about to start working 6 days a week, 12 hour evening/night shifts....this is going to leave me with very little time to prepare myself decent food. I was wondering, does anyone have some suggestions for meals that would give me the most energy to last working long hours? most importantly it has to be quick to make as I live by myself. I was thinking oats for breakfast (at 12pm ) potatoes, chickpeas, rice etc for "lunch", not really sure what foods would be best though for long lasting energy. any help is much appreciated

aside from meal stuff you can make..have treaty bits of nuts, seeds and dried fruits to snack on to keep you going. secrete them about your person and pretend you are a squirrel as you go about your daily business for added amusement.

    also scoff lotsa fruit.

    hi and welcome BTW

    hi there

bananas are particularly good for slow release energy!

if you have time to think ahead, on your days off you could cook chilli's, curry, stews etc which can be eaten cold the next day.

    stuffed pitta bread
    cold pizza
    hummus/dips with raw veg sticks
    avocado based salads
    home made cake
    fruit smoothies/fresh fruit
    pates
    fake meats etc

    good luck with it!

Don't forget to drink plenty of water and other fluids (not booze!) ... that's what will carry the nutrients around your body most effectively.

    what does spirulina actually do?

    Easy foods for sustained energy:

    - Peanut Butter sandwiches on grainy bread (I wish I ate peanuts but YUCK )
    - Pita & Hummus
    - Oatmeal
    - Smoothies (banana, any other fruit you want, soy milk)

give you lots of energy, strenghtens ur immunesystem, resistance, alot of pro athletes take it for more endurance and faster recovery, not to mention it contains 60% high quality, easily absorbable protein, vitamins, minerals and lots of this very powerful anti oxidant
