Theres no reason you shouldn't eat lots of carbs - unless they are they high fat processed variety. Is this what you mean? I think its important to diferentiate between the sugar/biscuits/cake type and the wholegrain rice/oats/pasta type.
^ Yes, I always eat wholemeal pasta and bread but I eat too much of it and crisps also. I know carbs aren't bad but I tend to over consume them.
I lost another pound and a half this week. I am just over 10 and a half stone now and I was nearly at 11 and a half stone 6 weeks ago.

I would like to get back to 9 stone but I think it is unlikely! I would be happy if I lost 7 more pounds and got to 10 stone really. I need to start doing some exercise as well.

i'm still stuck at 10 stone. i don't think i'm eating that badly at the moment and i do as much exercise as i'm ever going to do (i walk about 4 miles a day) but i can't get rid of the extra weight.

I think i have put on what i lost due to PMT but i am back on fruit and thinking about what i eat. I am not worried about losing weight i just want to look slightly healthier instead of tired and a bit dead.

This sounds like my kind of thread, I am still trying to get rid of all that omni fat from my pregan days lol. Last year I was at 264lbs right now I am currently at 235lbs but I still have a long way to go.

I'm trying to eat healthily at the moment to lose some weight. Ideally I would like to lose half a stone but a quarter is probably more realistic. I know I really need to exercise to be successful but I am just sooooo lazy

I put 4 pounds back on last week when I was ill with a cold as I just stayed in bed and ate loads. I'm the only person I know who can get ill and gain weight.

Me and corun had a terrible shock yesterday - our weighing scales broke so we bought some new ones. Our old scales must have been a bit worn out because the new ones say we are both three quarters of a stone heavier than we thought we were - had to go and lie down from the shock.

I would really like to join in on this. I would like to be accountable to someone (or many someones!) because I think it would make me stick to it more. I gained medicine weight that I just can't get rid of.
I am out of town for a week of work training, and I believe they have a weight room at the hotel. I am going to start there but would like some support! I've not done intense workouts (which I won't be doing anytime soon) while being vegan, so I'll need some help with that!
Okay everyone, I am currently 178, and I want to be 155 by July 21st (aka my 17th b-day) I have a slight eating disorder with belemia, and I want to do the best I can to lose the weight conventionally, does anyone have any tips? Or even better does anyone want to coach me through this?

Hi Carmanspoto, I'm not in a postion to advise you on eating disorders. There may be people on the forum that have been there and able to help - maybe on a pm basis.
I think the very fact that you mention it means that you have already faced up to the challenge - and that is very positive.
You are still young - and once out of educational stuff you might find more time to look around and see what suits you - gym, pilates, etc.
The only time I lose weight is when I eat less than my body needs and I need to do that over a period of time.
So if you can't or don't want to train out yet then consider something like that in the interim.

At 226lbs now, lost 9 more pounds! So far I have lost almost 40lbs total.
I've been soooo good this week i'm proud of myself. Eating 1200-1500 cals a day and been to gym twice. Have lost 2 lbs since monday yippee
I have 7 pounds to lose, and it's the most stubborn 7 pounds ever. It just won't go!
They say the last few kg (pounds) are the hardest to lose! I keep hovering around the same weight too.

Hey guys Im new to this forum and thread. You dont know how happy it makes me to see all of you on here dealing with the same issues that I am. I use the website Sparkpeople daily and love it. It has really helped me lose weight. So far I have lost 40 of the 100 pound goal I set for myself. Hopefully between that site, this site, friends, and family I will reach my goal by the end of this year!
Also an extreme amount of willpower and determination on my part is needed.
I have two weddings this year that I am a bridesmaid in, and I plan on looking HOT!

With me I guess my body has been so used to getting its own way it will try anything to remind me that it wants more food.
Nothing works any more on me so I get headaches when I am on my reduced calorie intake days.
However - the one failing we can all have is an occassional fall in will power.

Shame that particularly as I was due to start training again last weekend.
I picked up some injuries so it will have to wait a while longer.
In the meantime I'm going to address the food side of things.

I know a lot of being that do weightwatchers and love it. I don't think I could do it though. If only there was some kind of vegan weight watchers group, even if was just online.

I originally weighed 18st 11lb (before I was vegan) and
lost 8st 7lb to bring me down to 10st 4lb (which my doctor said was the healthiest weight for my height and was also pre-veganisation) but since going vegan I have put on nearly 2st and am now 12st 1lb. This is over the course of about 6 months and and right after my Birthday Week Extravaganza of eating a lot of chocolate and cake!!
The pre-vegan diet I did was pretty much glorified starvation (but medically supervised), so I guess a bit of weight gain afterwards is to be expected.
Basically, I'd like to get back down around the 10st mark healthily. I think I need to focus on cutting out overly processed things - biscuits, cake, chocolate…all those little vegan goodies you can get. I'm a bit of a mindless grazer when I'm at home.
I was just feeling like it's really hard to do this by myself. My boyfriend is keen to get fitter and so I have some support exercise-wise, I just feel abit hopeless and alone food-wise.
I run three times a week and box three times a week, so I think I'm doing well on the exercise front. Although I would LOVE to get a bit fitter because it'd help with my boxing no end.
Anyway, is anyone out there? I needs a halp!
P.S. I would like to lose a stone by Christmas.

I want to lose some weight again. I went up to 12 stone because of the medication I was on and I have managed to lose about 5 lbs in the past couple of weeks but I'm finding it difficult. I was about 10 and a half stone in February this year and I would like to get back to that weight (or lower than that obviously!)
I have been having a raw fruit and veg smoothie daily and they are quite filling and delicious and very healthy. Does anyone else have them?

So far so good! I stuck for fruit and veg for snacking yesterday and had a stir-fry for dinner.
Went shopping last night too, to stock up on fruit to nibble.
Today it's more of the same. Going to the cinema tonight though and so will have to eat out. Thinking about getting a jacket potato with baked beans and steering clear of any vegan chocolate that may tempt me (for some reason I always end up eating Hotel Chocolat stuff in the cinema).
Hoping to lose 2lb a week, although I think that might be a bit optimistic..
Oooohhh, also, did boxing last night. Total muffin top in my once fitting jogging bottoms. Sigh.
