Is calcium supplementation in milk normal? Just China?
Any ideas?
If you take a quick read at the article, you can see that the chinese business was the one that imported calcium and added it to milk. You probably know that china is famed for cutting corners to save money in production costs, so I wouldn't be surprised if they'd bought a toxic form of calcium because it was cheaper. It's clear that what they used wasn't fit for human consumption.
Do you remember the story a while back about all those babies in china dying of malnutrition while being fed regularly? The baby formula they bought had been diluted and mixed with whitewash so the colour would be the same, basically becuase it halved production costs. The nutritional value of the milk was less than a tenth what it was supposed to be, not to mention the fact there was paint in it.
Unfortunately this is the new face of modern chinese business. They've even managed to make fake eggs that are cheaper to make than ordinary eggs. Oh, and they contain industrial waste that causes dimensia. The most worrying part is that they're faking medication and that some of the fake medication is making its way into pharmacies in other countries like America and the UK. The packaging is indistinguishable from the real medication because the real packaging is usually made in china so it actually is the same package.
