If they made the cups a bit smaller and the coffee a bit more concentrated it would be an improvement IMO. Does seem a waste if they're replacing them all at once though.
Not sure if this has been posted before. Starbucks is phasing out the heavy mugs and they are going to be replaced with bone china mugs. Guess we'll have to drink in paper mugs although thats not environment friendly.

Hello there Kiran - how are you?
If you look at the page before this you'll see Marrers has been told that the new mugs aren't really bone china - hurray.
Hi harpy.. I'm fine thanks..
Sorry, my mistake.. I did not read the rest of the thread..

My friend found a dead spider in a Starbucks salad a few weeks ago.
I've never liked Starbucks anyway, I'm glad to say!

have been enjoying spending time in my local starbucks this last few weeks.
I use my own travel mug (they fill it and charge venti but it's a litre (14 extra floz for imperial measurement types) and get 25p off, I use my card and the soya and hazelnut are free. Usually tehy have a falafel panini (marked vegan) and they grill it in paper for me.
My local branch is used to my demands re milk hygiene at this point and the steamer is completely clean before use and a fresh steaming jug and spoon used every time.
While my broadband has been down it has been a real lifeline too.

i crave their coffee. daily.
ive had a quick skeg through here and through the starbucks website, cant see.
the sugar free syrups (hazelnut and vanilla..) are vegan, yes? anyone know?
ahronli sed ah dunit so thid tek thuh cheyus graytuh offa mi nihbles
as far as I know, they use monin for most of the syrups in the UK. The standard hazelnut syrup is vegan I don't know about sugar free.

Monin's website does say that all their syrups are suitable, so mainly need to check what they use in the branch

soya frappuccinos have just landed in the uk.. loads of flavours, pretty sure they're vegan (apart from the caramel drizzle, white mocha, chai (honey).. and whipped cream of course!) but don't hold me to that! might want to email starbucks to check for certain. x
this thread has left me so confused, lol. i've been drinking soy fraps since october, thinking they were vegan. i've double checked with the baristas more than once, asking if they contained any dairy products, and they always say no. i have lots of friends who are sensitive/allergic to dairy and i think it's fairly common these days for ppl to ask whether or not something is dairy free. i mean allergy issues are huge these days so if i ask if something is dairy free, i except to get a pretty straightforward answer.
i will definitely be getting a gift card and making use of the free soy milk! i got 3 gift cards for Christmas and with all the times i used them, no one ever told me i could register it and get my soy milk for free!
I think they should have soya whipped cream in stock is all I'm going to say.
"It's not that people suddenly start breeding like rabbits; it's just that people stopped dropping like flies" - population explosion
it seems that none of the fraps are vegan. got an updated list of what's vegan from them today. here's their reply. (no idea why macchiato is on there, as the caramel drizzle definitely contains milk products! - unless they mean without, which is basically a latte I think! - also I was always under the impression that the hot choc powder was milk based, and some of the teas contain honey?!)

Your list mentions "tea based frappuccinos" - not sure what that means. Here is an email from Starbucks on the subject, could be a lot clearer - it doesn't mention that you have to be careful with ingredients such as caramel drizzle.
They do two hot chocolates and the Classic is vegan as listed.Date: 19 May 2011 08:56

I spoke with the manager in the Stafford Starbucks last week and she informed me that the strawberry and cream frapp is suitable for vegans (obviously if you ask for it without whipped cream and have soya). It was a hot day, so was very refreshing.

I feel fairly confident that the soy-based frapps in the US are vegan, as I have asked multiple times. But does anyone know if the new mocha coconut one is vegan (I don't know about the regular mocha one either)?

I was told that it is vegan. It is delicious!

(http://www.costa.co.uk/media/6271/allergy.pdf if anybody would like)
Brilliant, thanks for posting the lists! Although, Innocent Smoothies advise that they can't declare their smoothies as vegan (due to shellac) and I'm pretty sure Coca Cola still isn't vegan?
www.paperbagblog.wordpress.com
Don't know about innocent smoothies but this is on the Vegan Society website:"Coca-Cola state that their drinks are all free from animal ingredients apart from: Lilt, Lilt Zero, Kia-Ora Orange Squash, Kia-Ora Orange Squash No Added Sugar and Schweppes Orange Squash."

I am beyond thrifty. I am downright cheap. LOL
I don't go to Starbucks often, but I do buy a bag of Starbucks coffee at the market, and make it at home every morning. They sell an organic variety, and I know exactly what I am adding in for flavor when I don't drink it black. A drip of vanilla and some vanilla rice milk makes a delish latte for less than a dollar.
A one pound bag costs just a little more than only one venti to go, plus they will accept the container back as a voucher for a free coffee, and recycle the container for you. I usually don't actually go to Starbucks unless I am cashing in on that empty bag.
I told you I am cheap! lol
I envy you, I don't think we have that over here and even if we did, my OH - coffee shop addict - would probably turn his nose up at it. That's why I have all these lists from when we go on his many Coffee House visits - I emailed asking for a list of Vegan products so that I know what I can have. I do wish he wouldn't spend so much on these places...
That is insane re the (not so) Innocent smoothies.

Went to Starbucks this morning for a hot choc, and they gave me the Signature hot chocolate instead, so I asked for them to re-make it. I didn't mention that I was vegan, just said I wanted the drink completely dairy free and could they please make a Classic hot choc (w/soy) like I ordered.
They (3 of the baristas) then went on to tell me that because it was made with soy milk the Sig hot choc (SHC) was completely dairy free. I told them there was milk products in the powder of the S H C, but they wouldn't have any of it for at least a good couple of minutes. Was really annoyed and quite shocked, as a little dairy wouldn't have hurt me, but if they'd made the mistake with someone with an extremely acute dairy allergy, you never know. Surely they should be aware of this??
Thankfully they remade it in the end. I'll be writing to Starbucks!

Will someone please reassure me that Starbucks green tea and their passion tea is vegan-friendly? I am going this afternoon and planned on getting the "no-classic" green tea, which is pretty much unsweetened green tea. (P.S. sugar is pretty much added to every possible thing in the USA.

Is the Signature Hot Chocolate different from a regular hot chocolate or hot mocha. I ordered a few soy cappuccinos with mocha this weekend. I was perched over that counter like a hawk making sure they followed all procedures!

Sorry, what!? Maybe I'm just being stupid asking this and missing something really obvious, but it's possible for black tea to not be vegan? It's paper and tea leaves, some fruit in the jumped up ones...
Going to be so annoyed if it turns out it's not always vegan, and Yorkshire Tea isn't!
Oh I meant the sugar in them :P Should have clarified. I don't think we can be certain if the sucralose in Splenda is vegan or not. Good to know! I am so skeptical about their drinks because they have so many orders at one time. I can never be certain if the steamer is cleaned or not. I have asked several times and they just tell me that they have checked and sanitized their things before starting a new drink. But Idk!!!

I think Aaronm meant he would be annoyed to find out it wasn't for some reason
ohhhh. good! I was thinking 'what the hell have they come up with now?!'

Oops, sorry for stirring concerns! Personally, I do feel a bit concerned over their accuracy....so many drinks ordered at once and baristas have to make drink after drink in under a minute...makes me wonder. Of course, I am sure the brewed teas have got to be mostly vegan....unless the sugar isn't. Unsweetened teas are usually the best way to go, but then they don't have stevia or other natural sweeteners. Hmmm I need to do research.

Has anyone else noticed that Starbucks appear to have removed their vegan sandwich, the falafel pannini? I asked in my local but was told it had been discontinued and replaced with a falafel salad box which isn't vegan. I have emailed them 3 times now and written twice but so far no response. I'm so disappointed as it was so lovely to be able to easily get a vegan sandwich in a high street coffee chain.
