Hooray for Squigaletta's mug cake recipe!!
Garlic and herb cheezly with crackers, it was yummy. I had never tried that one before, they do one with "bacon" that I want to try too.
Squigaletta's mug cake recipe is fab.
Deserves to have international recognition. Its just so easy, simple, delicious
The other day, I was thinking how much I want a gooey steamed pudding sort of thing with sticky chocolate sauce
And as if by magic there it was.
MMMM mmmm mmmm
Thanks Squigaletta
Vxx
I might have to try that mug cake recipe. Not today though.
Teriyaki tofu! Mmm...it had pieces of ginger and onions in the sauce, and cut and mixed with steamed veggies (unfortunately there wasn't any vegan rice yesterday), it was a yummy dinner last night!
Tonight I had sweet and sour garbanzo beans with brown rice and steamed veggies and a vegetable curry (with mushrooms and tofu).

I'm so glad you all like the cake!!!
"Ham", lettuce and mustard sandwich and a lovely chilled glass of champagne.
Sausage baggette, onions and mild mustard with a bottle of cider.
Vegan nabe [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nabemono]
It was amazing. So, so so so delicious. Kombu dashi with some miso, with the following very Japanese vegetables
Spinach
Chinese cabbage
Bean sprouts
Tofu
Lotus root
Baby bamboo
Huge green onions
Shimeji mushrooms
Enoki mushrooms
Shiitake mushrooms
Satsumaimo [sweet potato]
Satoimo ["taro" apparently]
Yamanoimo [Mountain yam]
Daikon radish
Mochi
Teeny white konnyaku pasta bundles..
with of course some white rice, as well as a shoyu/sesame dipping sauce for some of the veggies. I am in love with that taro stuff! It's so creamy and amazing---- it's definitely a texture I don't enjoy very much from vegan food. Ohhh how delicious. I am so glad I have seven more months to enjoy Nabe. YEsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
To the vegans in Japan that I know are out there somewhere: Let's have a nabe party!!!
My next attempt at veganizing Japanese cuisine is going to be Shabushabu.. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabu-shabu]. Any ideas for veggies that would work best?
Nabe! Shabushabu!!!
ooo taro, I have never eaten it, what is the texture like, I have only ever have taro as a bubble tea flavour, and I love it as that but I can't really imagine how it would work in a savory dish.
I didn't JUST eat it....it was last night.....
I made an awesome spaghetti bolognaise. Rich and thick and warm and filling
Redwood fish fingers with ketchup, roasted potatoes and mixed veggies all covered in gravy. Followed by a mince pie, yum!
..spaghetti in tomato and chilli sauce with garlic and pepper yum
Leftover, warmed up Tofurkey roast in a sandwich with the Tofurkey gravy and cranberry sauce.
sounds yummy
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.

Banana, Orange, Pear, Red Grape, Blueberry fruit salad covered with strawberry&banana alpro-soya yogurt and a little bit of apple juice... oh and some museli sprinkled on top!
NOM NOM NOM
Well i couldnt be bothered cooking tonight so i ordered in the yummiest vegan pizza from Hells .. soooo good
spinach lasagna with a side of lentils and brown/wild rice and rice dream nog, as well as a coffee drink that is very much like a starbucks java chip frappachino thing, consistency and everything (made the recipe myself; will post tomorrow).
are there any leftovers? I'm always too lazy to make lasagna, and when I do make it for myself, I feel guilty afterwards because I just can't leave any leftovers alone.
... I'm nibbling on chocolate-covered coffee beans. So good!
Leftover lasagne, mixed with pasta shells
Salad, Avacado, onion, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, pepper, with ginger and raspberry dressing
Vanilla cupcake. From Vegan cupcakes take over the world. The best present i have ever bought my girlfriend, she makes me cakes and said thank you for the book!!!!! that will stop as soon as she reads this though oops!
Mmm, cupcakes! *said in a Homer-voice*
I had some great nachos earlier, niiice
treacle flapjacks mmmmm.
even perfect isn't perfect - Rubyduby 4th July 08
treacle flapjacks sound amazing. the students union cafe have vegan flapjacks (I think, not labelled vegan but ingredients look ok) but my new years resolution of no trans fats and no refined sugar kept me from buying one
I got two pineapples for a quid from the market, and have eaten about half of one this evening, it was lovely and sweet/tart made the rest into chunks to put in the fridge in small containers and take to work over the next few days!

raw courgette pasta and marinara sauce. First time I've ever made it and it was delicious!!! Going to become a staple
A whole packet of cooked beetroot from Lidls - lovely stuff when I am in the mood for it - like now - and very filling.
I LOVE cooked beetroot too Anne............you've put me in the notion for some.........I'll have to buy it today!
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
I just made Applie Pie Pancakes from Sarah Kramers La Dolce Vegan cookbook... amazing!!
I had a juicy sandwich for breakfast, with fresh tomato, avocado, vegannaise, romaine lettuce, and yummy bread.
... complete bar of chocolate O_O !
yesterday I ate roasted tofu and brussel sprouts. It was lush.
cauldron tofu. I have never had it before and I marinated it in agave, smoked paprika, nutmeg and soy sauce. It was amazing, and I can have it for dinner too!

1gentlemaorispirit, I didn't know the NZ-beetroot link. I thought it was mostly Eastern Europe where the beetroot rules. Glad to know it has a hold in the southern hemisphere.
I used to like the picked beetroot you get in a jar, but since tasting the cooked stuff, I can't stomach the pickled stuff.
Also I love beetroot crisps - worth the pink fingers after!
Oh yes! The vegetable crisps sold in Tesco with beetroot and Kumara (sweet potato) I love them!
Grass roots health food store in Glasgow used to sell them, and every other week I'd take a walk through Kelvin park up to the shop on Great Western road so get some shopping. That area was/is full of Aussies and Kiwis.

@ ellaminnowpea:
Thanks for the compliment.
I made all the savoury, and Mrs vegcurry made the cheesecake.
The enchilada recipe was adapted from 'Santa Fe Red Chilli Enchiladas' in The Art Of Tofu. One day I'll actually get to buy some Santa Fe red chillies
Maybe you need to teach me to cook, VC! I Mexican/Spanish food!
I just ate the most delicious raw zucchini pasta with "cheese" sauce and vegetable/black bean/rice noodle soup.
