    ^ ditto, Miss B.

I guess I'll have to keep eating that rubber yuckiness until I eventually like it. An "acquired taste" as they like to call it. Then I can look back at this post and laugh once I like it-- ten years from now!

this post was incredibly amusing. I haven't been vegan long enough to track down a bottle of this so called "God Sent" but it has been on the top of my priority list. I will report back

I used up my jar last night mixed with Morningstar chik'n strips, grapes, garlic, touch of sugar (mock chicken salad- to die for!!)

thanks for the reminder to buy more tommorow (and an extra jar for my omni meat-eating parents who LOVE IT more so than regular mayo, no shit!)...

THAT sounds extremely good. Did you cook the chik strips before or just defrost them? I MUST try this recipe!

did not cook, just defrosted (for a min or so in microwave), room temp..yeah, this stuff is so easy and good to throw together, I was a huge fan of fruited chicken salad (coated in mayo) and am thrilled I can again make this with veganese and faux chicken. I've made it before too in the past with "chicken-style seiten", its so creamy, sweet, savory & good!!!!

    Okay.
I HATE mayonnaise. Always have. Miracle Whip makes me barf.
Vegenaise.....delicious ambrosia. I don't know how to cook and I'm in a plce that doesn't have any stores that sell stuff like chickpeas except Wal-Mart and I don't shop there, but the first time I tried Vegenaise the first thing I wanted to do was make this chickpea un-tuna sandwich I saw once, because I loved tuna sammiches even though I hated fish.
Whoa, ramble, but anyway go Vegenaise or however it's spelled. I use the blue lidded one. Never tried Nayonaise.
Either this wallpaper goes, or I do.

Steph, I made the "chicken" salad. It's delicious! I mixed it up last night and we had it tonight for sandwiches. Thanks for the great idea.

I had to read this post because I was just in my kitchen putting Wildwood's Garlic Aioli on my cheeseless BBQ "chicken" pizza ---- Has anyone tried this stuff? It is so yummy! If I dare say so - it is better than vegenaise and nayonaise! I was never a mayo eater before I was vegan - It made me gag, but this is my favorite. You must try it -- NOW! Seriously! All of their products are yummy!

Good news, all: I tried the ORGANIC version of Veganaise and - I like it!

I've been making tomato, Veganaise, and cracked black pepper sammiches daily!!

I'm thinking that I tried Veganaise too soon in my vegan transformation and my body and taste buds were not yet used to the taste of soy. But, now I'm quite happy.

Then LET'S CHANGE THE TREAD TITLE! It's officially not considered icky by any persons.

And is there much soy in Veganaise? I thought it was oil-based (Canola or Grapespeed) with little or no soy. Still, it's tasty.

I second and third this endorsement!!! Wildwood's Garlic Aioli is the BEST!!! Even before I became vegan, I hated mayonnaise, but I LOVE Aioli!!! If you can't find it, tell me and I will mail you a jar; It is to DIE for.

I read somewhere here that Nayonaise is more like Miracle Whip in taste. Is this so? Because I happen to like Miracle Whip more than mayo.

If you get desperate and want to try another sort of Mayo, Plamil do mail order. They've been getting a bit of stick in this thread, but I've somehow managed to eat my way through nearly a jar a week this summer (eating loads of beanburgers and chips to fit in with family meals) so it must have something going for it.
There was another sort of vegan mayo over here - I bought two jars at an event years ago but couldn't get more once those ran out. Can't remember what it was called now. Any ideas? Think it was made in London.

    Is Plamil getting a stick?
If it seems that way it's probably because the people who eat vegenaise don't have access to plamil, and vice versa.

I guess it's more of a US based thread.

If I could buy Vegenaise then Plamil would go back to getting my money only for their excellent, when fresh and hideously disappointing when not, mint chocolate.

Hahaha. Come to the UK to experience the slightly too vinegary (for me) pea protein containing Plamil egg free mayonnaise.
The Plamil mayos are great and taste fine but I have been seduced by the magical foodstuff that it Vegenaise.
    Mayo fight!
Plamil is almost as bad a name as Follow Your Heart for a company imo..

In the uk mayo league, i vote Mayola from Granovita!
I agree Plamil has way too much vinegar in it.
But i'd love to try Veganaise one day, it sounds really good!

Question for you guys: I absolutely hated mayonnaise-- it literally makes me gag to smell it and I can get goosebumps from just thinking about it right now. A few people have said Vegenaise tastes better-- can you explain how? What does it actually taste like? I really never considered buying it until I saw this thread. I've made homemade stuff from the Vegan Planet recipe before, and even that got too close in smell to mayonnaise for me.

i hated mayo too but veganaise is totally different. i'm not sure why... i can't really compare the tastes cause i don't remember what mayo tasted like...but veganaise has a nice tang to it.

Your right vegannaise is nastyyyyy! However if you pop in at your local whole foods, try the light canola mayo. It's eggless, vegan, pretty not-fattening, and tastes just like regular mayo. It even comes in the handy squeeze bottle! retails for about $2.99

I bought the purple one made from grapeseed oil... and let me tell you I am the pickiest when it comes to mayo. I cannot even have the off brand mayo because I gag, so I was terrified to try this one. But I was craving a blt.... with smart bacon of course So I tried it and I LOVE it, and I was so releived based on my past experiences. So def props on the purple lid vegannaise from a newbie.

You should probably try it again. Some vegan tastes take a while to get used to. I just tried coconut milk ice cream, which I thought was okay but I was thinking I wouldn't buy it again - but then I had some last night, and I wolfed it down like it was my last meal! Sometimes it takes a while to understand flavors that you're no used to.

As for veganaise, I'm so excited to try it - I will probably be buying it during my next grocery shopping trip. I've been in the mood for sandwiches lately.

Vegennaise is too expensive. I only got some because I had a coupon. It goes well on onion bagels.

I used to buy Nayonaise because it's cheaper and easier to find. But then I tried Vegenaise and that's all I buy now, it's so much better. Nayonaise is too vinegary or something
