I agree, I think that is a very positive response from the organisers and hopefully goes someway to addressing some of the complaints that had been laid at their door.
Lets all hope they do it all again for us next year!

I dont get crunchy people?
Snap!
I was absolutely incensed at the way she basically claimed that going vegan cures all physical and mental illnesses including cancer, depression and stress! Oh and makes you nice to everyone and at peace with nature and yourself and you'll never feel lonely again. I too bit my lip thinking, hey, nobody with half a brain would believe a word of it and if they do, what the hell, they might give veganism a go and it's all good. But came out shaking with rage (funny that, given I haven't eaten stress-inducing meat for oh, 21 years?).
Then I heard several stories about people who give up all conventional medicine in favour of homeopathy (she was a homeopath, though billed on the programme as a doctor), with disastrous consequences.
This was my only really negative experience at the Fayre. I love it every year and I now miss the fakefish and chips particularly (and the cakes, of course, mmm, preciousss vegan cake). Like almost all others have said, great event, hard-working organisers, but looks like speakers is another thing that they may want to be more careful about. Homeopathy has a VERY bad name in the mainstream, and with or without the outrageous dietary claims, association with it isn't what vegan outreach needs.
^ that's terrible!
It's ridiculous for anyone to make those kind of claims about veganism!
That policeman was very sweet and friendly and smiling all the time - he was like a little doll! Dunno who that other bloke is tho.

If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
The Bristol Vegan Fayre will continue in 2010
The Bristol show is being re-examined and might be renamed, increased in area and a third day added (Friday evening gig).
It will remain vegan though in terms of only vegan products and food allowed.
The aim is to reduce the costs of the stalls and admission prices.
Dates to be confirmed are 28th, 29th and 30th May.
I Think, Therefore I Am A Vegan
ooh cool, very good news indeed
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
Maybe Frank means the prices of the stalls.
Thats good news
The 29th is mine and Gwydions birthday
Can't think of anyway better to celebrate
ha-ha!
i really hope we'll be living south by next May and i can finally go to the vegan fayre and criticise it first hand
(*kidding* - i'm sure i will love it and am very excited about the prospect)
