I went to cafe kino the other day, it was very... rustic. Nice though! Apparently cafe maytreya is one of the best veggie restaurants in the country. Although not completely vegan unlike cafe kino.

I think Temple Meads has left luggage - but its a bit of a way from the fayre so would be a pain to lug it over there. The coach station is nearer and may have left luggage - although it sounds like you've sorted it out now. Definately no where at the fayre to leave stuff - people often ask to leave stuff at the site office but we just can't - sorry.
Cafe Maytreya is a bit further away - a couple of miles. I havn't been there for few years - its a big plate small food type of place - I prefer Kino cos its cheaper and you get more food!

    Yes - that's the place.

I think there is enough on the table now for Gwydion to make a choice for his b'day.

There's no left luggage at either Temple Meads or the coach station - I've been caught out before.

Seems strange no left luggage in a large city but am sorted now if I dont stay Sat thanks to Spud Addict

Yes Gwydion should decide on where to go for food as he will be the birthday boy.

I reckon just drinks on the Sat evening as so much to eat at the festival and the music will be on in the early evening.

Will leave it that Im just staying the Fri eve and go back the Sat night about 6pm so Im about for Dads birthday as I missed it last year with friends wedding.

If I need to change plans I can find a hotel nearer the time.

My check in time is 12, so I can always meet you somewhere at the fayre and go and dump stuff in there around then?

Your a star! My checkout time from the travelodge is 12 but Id go to the fayre when it opens do my shopping and leave it in my bag til I go to get the train - leaves rest of the day to catch up with everyone

Im now looking into trains and costs and the idea of staying Sat and heading home Sun am/lunchtime so I get back for part of Dads birthday. Its a tricky one as last year I missed this festival so would love to stay both days, Its always such a great festival, but also missed Dads birthday for friends wedding so will have to see!

Depending on when my viva is taking place I'll definitely be there this year. I'll probably come down from Birmingham for the day only, either Saturday or Sunday. Can't wait to meet you all!

I think they were £12 for the whole weekend if bought in advance or £5 for each day if bought on the door.

Can anyone recommend any decent places to stay in Bristol for the weekend?

Did they have those 'creme eggs' at last year's fayre? I couldn't go till the Sunday last time and I know they wouldn't have lasted til then anyway.
I hope they're there this year.....

Tickets for the Bristol Vegan Fayre will be on sale at the Brighton Vegan Fayre.

You can get an early bird discount by buying them then – at £12 for the weekend.

Otherwise – tickets are £8 adults in advance each day, £10 on the gate before 5pm and £12 after 5pm

No re-admittance after 5pm. Show opens 11am both days through to 10.30pm on Saturday and 8.30pm on Sunday. Marquees shut at 7pm both days.

Kids under 12 £4 each day, babies under 12 months free.

The Fayre is a little more expensive this year due to increased costs from the council, insurance and security companies etc.

Still, I worked that out at 57 pence an hour for the weekend and I think that’s pretty good value.

Hi all, I have volunteered to do some flyering for the Fayre this year I think the organisers are putting it on hold next year so really want to make this one big enough to remember in the interlude, anyone up for it?

They'd love the help especially further afield

tickets last year were six pounds a day if i remember correctly - they've gone up to £8 in advance this year. Was well worth it in 08 and I'm sure they'll be doing their best to repeat that this time although they can't guarantee the weather, shame being outdoors.

Having been at the indoors Brighton one this year, I think the outdoors is much nicer as long as it's not actually raining or blowing a gale.

^ I guess we will have to see how the organisers get on with this Bristol fayre first.

There are a lot of minuses to be carried over from Brighton - so a successful Bristol is what we need

Please donate on the site a few pennies, a few quid - whatever you can spare.

If 3,000 people turn up and donate on average just £1 - this would help fund this years two fayres immensely - and this might help the organisers to consider doing a 2010 Bristol fayre.

The outdoor-ness just adds a little extra adventure - last year I got frizzy hair from the rain, the year before, sun burn! (And before that it was indoors).

I went last year as it was on just as i moved to Bristol. Loaaaaads of free food and goodies. Bloody brilliant. None of the friends i took with me were vegan but they loved it. I went on a sunday at about 1pm and they charged me £5 on the gate. Thats cheaper than usual isnt it??
I cant go this year because i have to work that weekend :/

Theres a few different roles from clicking people in to directing traffic. I've been getting people to fill in application forms with their skills on and then matching them up with what their best at. We need people on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can work all or just one shift. When shifts start and finish depends on what type of work you're doing.
If you're reliable, responsible and interested, then we can fit you in somewhere.
