As from beginning of 2005 the hq of Australian Assn for Humane Research, and the Medical Advances Without Animals, is moving to POBox 7018, Noble Park East, Vic 3174.

Helen Rosser did valuable work setting up Humane Charities Australia (http://www.humanecharities.org.au) that provides lists of health charities that do not fund animal experiments for people who want to donate to medical research with a clear conscience. Helen also created the Compassionate Kidz website (http://www.compassionatekidz.org) that educates children on animal rights. She is completing production of 'Animals Matter' (http://www.animalsmatter.com.au) - Australia's first ever tv show about animal welfare and animal rights. It will air on Melbourne's community station 31 in January 05.

The Humane Charities list is now being administered by AAHR. As the AAHR newsletter says, "next time you get a request for a donation in the mail, send it back with a note saying 'I only support charities on the Humane Charities List'."

Hopefully this will encourage health charities not to conduct, nor support, animal based research, and so vital donations are redirected to more ethical health organisations.
