That's incredible...
Imagine how well he'd be doing if he wasn't eating so badly!
That's insane! I wonder if it will all catch up to him when he retires and isn't training so intensively
i know, all those refined carbs and energy drinks! that cant be helping his performance!
but he's still amazing!!!
the aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, dunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.

If that is true, and I highly tabloid-sensationalism doubt it, then it is vile.
Carl Lewis said years ago that top athletes had some of the worst diets he'd ever seen. not sure if his veganism was 100% ethical or just down to health choice!
Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty!
I swam against him when i was a kid

Good grief, all those eggs! Yuck!
I liked this comment.
"I just assumed he ate other smaller, slower swimmers."
I would love to say I remember. However I was 11 when i quit the swim team and 13 when I moved to NY. The only reason I know this is because my parents tell me. They also insist on telling me how I "should have kept swimming." I dunno what it was, I still swim 3times a week, I just couldn't handle the pressure of competition. I should look up all my old swim team photos though.

Oh and yes, my parents say they remember perfectly how everyone would talk about his talent even at a very young age.

When I read about his diet and training etc. all I could think was "what a boring life!". He said he does nothing but eat, sleep and train.
I started swim team when I was 5 and also quit swim team around 11 or so, when I moved. I think I swam for a year after we moved, but I really didn't like my new coach. And frankly, I felt like swimming was becoming my life and I didn't have time for anything else! But my parents also tell me I "should have kept swimming." Ah, parents. I still love swimming but don't get a chance to go as often as I'd like.
