Conversation with my friend's little sister:

"Why are you a vegan?"
"Because it's better for the environment."
*she turns to her mom* "Mom, I'm going to be vegetarian 'cause eating meat's bad for the environment!" *turns back to me* "Except for on steak night."

She's pretty young, so I didn't want to go too deep into things. "Because you're eating corpses" wouldn't have gone over well. It was pretty funny, though.
