61. because those animals are innocent lives(more so than any human!)
62. because you feel more connected with the earth and with others when you are an herbivore.
63. because you are not ignorant to the hidden things surrounding you.
You get to eat cool foods that you never would try if you weren't vegan!
Praising Seitan never tasted sooo good!

Because you know it is right

sincerely, I wouldn't like the idea of being made out of carrion.
Following a plant-based diet, and thus, knowing that my body structures aren't made of dead animals makes me feel really good... I may be a weirdo, but...

"It is just like man's vanity and impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions" - Mark Twain
Because it is obvious by our physical nature that humans are not meant to eat meat. Any of you ever had a meat-eater point out your "canine" teeth in the front as "proof" ? I point out to them that it those four somewhat pointy teeth are nowhere near pointy enough to be able to grab hold of and wrestle down/kill anything. Even more telling, most of us have to use knives to tear or somehow tenderize "tough" foods (like meat) in order to eat them unlike true carnivores. Besides, most of our teeth--especially the molars--are more like herbivores: fairly flat on top and wide for grinding (not tearing). Human jaws are also more like herbivores in that our jaws can move to the left and right as well as up and down. Carnivores' jaws can only move up and down (i.e., alligators' and cats' jaws). Also, our intestines are VERY long whereas carnivorous animals have short intestines--to get the "meat" out quickly--while meat and animal products putrify in our intestines. [Sorry I don't know all the sources, I've read these differences so many different places!]

75) Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in.
That just makes me want to cry.
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
76) Pigs are more intelligent than any dog, the extent of their intelligence is still unmeasured, but we know they can handle video games. When kept in factory farm cages, they barely get the chance to move an inch and quickly go insane, usually at infancy.
77) Most factory farmed animals never see the light of day.
78) In the production of leather, cows are generally skinned alive after an eletronic stun.
79) In slaughter houses, many animals are still concious as they have their throat slit. Pigs tend to urinate and scream in fear after seeing the pig ahead of them put to death. Some have even been boiled alive if they do not get their throat cut being the boiling process.
I could go on.

this makes me cry
because my likkel hamster is so innocent and so trusting..to consume a being just because i can..would be denying myself the compassion i am capable of
I agree with those of you who point to your pets as examples of animal intelligence/empathy that makes it hard to even consider eating ANY animal I know I told my first bunny when I brought her home, "you don't have to worry about me"--as lots of people talked about my eating her when she grew up Looking into the eyes of my dog, cat, rabbits, and fish, I can't imagine even considering eating one of our fellow creatures!

80) Because your sex drive goes way up.
81) Because your boyfriend's cum tastes better when he's vegan.
82) Because it's hypocritical to say that your race is the most 'compassionate', then turn around and support the lifelong torture and slaughter of defenseless people.
83) Because it's hypocritical to say that you care for animals and don't want them to suffer, then turn around and support the lifelong torture and slaughter of defenseless people.
84) Because humans are animals, too.
85) Because we can't define what we should do in life by what we're allowed to or what's legal -- it's also legal for me to manipulate and coerce people into sex with me, short of rape, but that too is wrong.
86) Because we need to look past ourselves sometimes and give up things so that others can be happy -- even if they don't "affect you".
87) Because animals are people.
88) because a healthy diet makes a healthy mind which makes a healthy outlook for every living thing
I love that one.IlFromaggio
#89) Because since becoming vegan last month, I can't remember ever feeling as good as I have been. Not to mention comments that i'm starting to look way better too. The overall feeling of wellness can't be beat.

98. you can save the NHS money by turning down mamograms "no thanks, I'm vegan, I won't get breast cancer" (men sub prostate)
the only animal ingredient in my food is cat hair
You have an excuse to eat lots of falafel

Oh really? I'd like to see a pig take me on at Super Mario Kart.
101. Your breath stinks less
102. When you have a sore throat as a vegan, it's not as bad as an omni's or lacto-veg's since dairy products make you phelgm-y
102. Your farts don't stink like rotten flesh
103. Your skin generally glows with more health
Peace, love, and happiness.
Because every animal I've ever met is so much sweeter than most of the humans I know so why would I want to torture and/or kill them?
You can outfart your friends, the food is a million times better than anything from an animal, and because i know there is no way in hell i'd ever be able to hurt, let alone kill, any kind of animal.
Because there's 100's of reason to be vegan and not a single good reason to support the torture of animals and destruction of our only planet (unless you're an ignorant ass who thinks using it as a way to make money or the idea that "it tastes good" are good reasons)

106: because you may have the chance to help someone else become vegan one day, in turn saving even more animals in the world.
"you dont have to be tall to see the moon" - african proverb
I just read a little news item that might do the trick for a meat-eater on the brink:
"Snouts, ears, tongues, tendons, and blood vessels - all are legitimate ingredients in respectable meat pie." This is from the Australian consumer magazine 'Choice' which goes on to say that after testing 23 national brands that are supposed to contain 25 percent meat, including from goat, buffalo, hare, camel, three popular brands failed. The Choice spokesman, Norm Crothers, warned: "If you thought the major ingredient was meat, you're in for a disappointment".

111) because i love animals passionately (eww not bestiality, just friendship and respect...sicko lol)and feel it is ethically impossible for me to justify their torture and unnatural deaths.
112)because its so great for your health (see peta.com or goveg.com)
113)because as a wiccan i believe in "an it harm none"
114)because i'm getting a wider range of foods now than ever before and most of it is low in fat, especially saturated fat!
115)because im neurotic about food and love having an extra excuse to obsessivly check food labels
116)clean conscience, clean food, cleaner way of life

I don't know if I said this before but it is a matter of integrity. If you wouldn't kill the animal yourself then why pay someone else to do it?
it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble
Because I'm right... so there
I believe veganism is the single most activity to solve most of the worlds problems like war, famine and most diseases etc.
(15) 'Reasons To Go Vegan' from theanimalspirit.com
all of the reasons at 'animalspirit.com' were very valid reasons but one really jumped off the page which most vegans are aware of but so worthy to think of again, great affirmation:
"Tragically, some 80% of the world's hungry children live in countries with actual food surpluses, much of which is in the form of feed fed to animals which will be consumed by only the well-to-do consumers"
Because I said so!
