    Default Soaking

I was wondering how long you are meant to soak wild rice, hemp seeds, linseed and almonds for before using.

I know wild rice isnt 'raw' but id still like to add it to my recipe without cooking it.

    Thanks

Also, how do you know when avacados are ripe? Ive kept them im the fridge before and they were all hard and i just couldnt get the 'flesh' off.
Are they soft when there ready? Im also guessing im not meant to keep them in the fridge?

I don't know about the rice but with avocados, yes they should be soft..but not mushy. If you pinch the tip it should yield with a littile pressure. If they're too hard pop them in a bag with a couple of bananas and they'll ripen upin a day or two.

Ive soaked linseed overnight and there was a big mass of gloop on the morning. What is this and is it meant to go like that!?

Yup...that happens with flax or linseed as you call it. That's why it can be used as an egg replacement in baking. There's not need to soak linseed prior to eating...I've never heard of any benefit anyway. They don't sprout or anything...well at least I've never heard of anybody sprouting them. I tend to soak and sprout seeds like sunflower seeds & pumpkin seeds and mung beans, lentils etc. and some nuts aswell because it's supposed to be easier to digest.

I believe the gloop which come out of linseed is an oil, and you can eat
    it.
Put some linseeds, sunflower seeds, porridge oats almonds and dried fruit in a bowl, cover with a mixture of water and soya milk and leave overnight at room temperature.
In the morning is ready to eat. The gloop will have solidified.
You can add extra soya milk and sugar if you like.
The problem with raw unprocessed flax or linseeds is they pass through undigested. So you don't get the nutrition from them if you just eat them as they are.
