well they are aiming to mimic dairylee which never really tasted much like cheese either

I loved dairylee, shame it tastes nothing like it. Though I don't get cravings for it anymore which can only be a good thing

Me too, i bought some Pure from tesco today and tried it as soon as i got home.
Didn't like it at all, too grainy and sweet with an odd flavour.
If anyone finds a way of using it that makes it palatable, i'd love to know, otherwise its a waste of £1.69

This is fake cream cheese is it? You could try making peanut butter, "cream cheese" and chopped celery sandwiches with it. I used to like those, and the taste of the peanut butter and celery might just overwhelm the fake cheese...

I bought the Alpro one and thought the exact same thing.

    Yes, fake cream cheese
I will try putting it in a sandwich as you say, with other strong flavours, i do like peanut butter. Also, olives and chillis might work.
    Must experiment...

My experience exactly. The triangles and slices haven't appeared yet. When they finally show up I do hope they're better than the spread.

Didn't like the Alpro cream cheese, either. Tastes like ice cream, I thought.
Someone creative could probably make a really good dessert out of it, but it's pants for savoury things.

Ha! No, I didn't mean that. I had read this thread and looked in the shops for so long that I began to think it was something Pure planned but was never going to happen

Ah, but we must live in hope . At least it made me walk past the cheese in Morrison's. I was amazed at how many different types of cheese you can buy!

Note to self - must get out more

It's not hit Hornchurch tesco yet (but that place is pretty small, they only have one vegetarian freeser cabinet rather than the one in Surrey Quays (still fairly small but bigger than this one) which has practically a full side of a freezer aisle packed with veggie and vegen food) but will keep an eye out in various places

I have changed jobs and moved house in the time between first seeing the advert on the tub and now!! I've still not found any of the new products anywhere

Wall-E is defiantly onto something though, Tofutti is ace. Especially the garlic and herb one *drools*

After work tonight Wall-E insisted we go shopping again. I reminded him about our jaunt to Purley Tesco earlier in the week but he made "those eyes" at me until I gave in and agreed to go to Burgh Heath ASDA.

Now I know why Wall-E was so keen - look what we found!
