Vegans from Kent, UK???

Hello Everyone, I'm New!!!

I haven't got any friends, and well.. Lives lonely as a vegan in a meat-eating world and particularly in Kent . Is there any Vegans from the Kent area to chat with?

I seem to repel people. I genuinely believe Vegans have a some sort of Vegan repellent. Because everywhere I go People seem to dislike me. I don't know if anyone else gets that. For example they look at you funny if they know your vegan, and they think vegans think they are better than meat-eaters and so they automatically hate you. Anyway.. Hi!

Which bit of Kent are you in?

There is an active AR/Vegan group around Canterbury/Whitstable/Herne Bay, there is a vegan/veggie group in Rochester that meets once a month. There is a meeting this Saturday.

My wife and I are both vegan and live in Sittingbourne.

Nothing wrong with Maidstone. Some of the best vegans work there

If you have transport and feel brave, pop along to the meal on Saturday. It's only pub food. For once, me and Toni will actually be able to get to this one.

Yes Purdypoo you should definitely go along and meet some vegans! I go to the London meets due to ease of getting into London from here. The first one is always the hardest because of the nerves, but once youre there itll be fine

Me and my partner live in Kent, just outside the M25. Luckily there is a friendly local Vegan group. I think a meet up to explore some of Kent would be cool.

I need to get better at travelling. Do they always serve Vegan Pub food?

Yeah. Quite a few choices, although sometimes they aren't all available.

Usually have some bottles of various Sam Smith's too.

we seem to live in times of quick judgement which somehow allows people to think they can be rather ignorant at times, just know that doing what you believe is an important thing (that matters) to the world.
my point being i think we should start the Kent vegan rights movement!! anywho hi!

Wow, nine years in Maidstone and I have only met one other vegan - yet there are at least three posting on the forum from here! Where ARE you all???

I tried to get a vegan picnic organised a couple of years back but not a single taker... I tell myself it was poor advertising as the truth might be too hard to bear...

Being vegan, having kids and being a (largely) single mum cuts me out of the social scene on a number of counts. It would be really good to have a get together on a weekend - maybe up at Mote Park - kick a ball around, share some food and life experiences. Anyone up for that?

We both work on the edge of Mote Park, me at Turkey Mill, her at Mote House, and we take the dawgs for a walk in the park quite often.
