Default Cafe in Northampton with some vegan options

I have never found any vegan friendly places in Northampton (where I sometimes visit family)

Today I spotted a new milkshake bar and they do vegan soya shakes too - they have soya milk and soya ice cream and do use a clean/sep blender for the soya drinks. There are a choice of flavours - like the shakeaway ones in Bristol. Also fresh smoothies and they do falafel and hummus in pitta thats vegan.

Its an internet cafe and games place too seemed nice.

Ive forgotton the name but the name was 'udderly' something

Its at the very top of the high street - Abington street I think? Just before you get to the main road - Lower Mounts/York Road?

Seemed more vegan aware than anywhere else in Northampton!

Ooh! That sounds good! We lived in Northampton for a short time, and go back occasionally to visit friends. Will keep a note of this and seek it out next time! Is it up near where Lloyds Bar 1 (or whatever it's called) is? If that is still there...!

Hey - I didn't know of anyone else around N'pton!

It's called Crazy Udder and is now partnered with an internet gaming store called Project Hydra. It's at the top of the road, near Sheinman's Opticians and I think near Lloyds Bar too...

It's delicious. Also, coco pops are vegan so they might make you a soya shake with that if you want.

p.s. I actually rang Kellogs to confirm because it didn't explicitly say it on the label

Hi Im not from Northampton but my Grans in a nursing home there so I visit every few months Got other family there too.

Not found anywhere apart from Wetherspoons/Lloyds that have any vegan food since Daily Bread cafe shut so was happy to find somewhere selling vegan shakes!

Seemed friendly in there and the net cafe looked good too.

Cheers for the name - I shall have to visit there next time im in town, might try the falafel.

I walked through Boots to get to the bus station and noticed they had 3 vegan sandwiches!! Their own hummus/carrot and 2 of the Fresh range - Hummus and the fab smoked tofu/chilli jam/salad and sprouting beans.

I suppose you mean Daily Bread was just closed on that day since it was open the other day .

Holland & Barrett have some good things (near Waterstones) that can be eaten on-the-go like vegan pasties and then Redwood's Chicken Style Pieces...
    Ooh falafel? Sounds good.

This is good news, my mum has just moved there from South London.

Whoops, didn't mean the café, just the store... it's brilliant though!

There is also a crazy udder in kettering. Haven't tried any of their shakes as I didn't think they would be vegan aware.
    Might have to investigate further...

I think they are - the Kettering one was open long before the Northampton one hehe.
There's a Facebook group for the Northampton one by the way.

Because they had just incorporated the internet gaming store as well, they hadn't sorted out the vegan milkshakes before I left but said they would have done by Monday (though I left N'pton on Sunday the 11th). One of the staff promised that if I camein on Saturday they'd still do me a vegan shake (with vegan icecream) so I did return and got my delicious shake - yay!

p.s. Not entirely sure their chocolaute sauce is vegan but they can definitely use Green & Blacks which is vegan. Plus Coco Pops are vegan (rang Kellogs to check) so you might be able to get a soya coco pop shake.

Ok, next time I am in town I will go and have a nose. Sounds like they know their stuff so hopefully should be able to get myself a nice soya shake!

Didn't know coco pops were ok though, that's cool!

We were in Northampton over the weekend, visiting a friend, and we took the opportunity to go to Crazy Udder. It's fantastic! Gorgeous smoothies! Plus, they have xboxes there They're very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit.

Daily Bread is wonderful for stocking up - not got the address to hand and got a lack of internet access at the mo but if you Google it you will get their website.

They basically are a co operative selling a range of different sized whole foods - cereals, pulses, nuts etc and frozen foods plus Pauls breads, and a good range of soya milks, fair trade products, Ive not been for ages but have happy memories of shopping trips there for all my foods when I was a kid in the 70's

Very vegan friendly and good for bulk buys or a small shop.

Real shame their cafe in town shut
