This sounds like a good place for nice unhealthy food will have to try at some stage!
Cant get website to work to find out where it is?

Do you know where Govindas is (Govindas is on Soho Street, just off of Oxford Street near Tottenham Crt Rd Station (opposite side of road to Zavvis))?
Basically, go past Govindas, walk through the Square (Soho Square) and come out the other side- the street is Greek Street and it's just down there
Oxford Street is the world's busiest high street, but on that map it looks totally deserted! Bizarre.
someone appears to have a massive umbrella.
Thanks I know roughly where Greek St and Soho square are so could find it if needed. Im another person who can get lost trying to find Beatroot, yet can always find Red Vege, come to think of it It takes me ages to find Glasshouse stores from Piccadilly tube - that place always throws me
Beatroot is easy to find, since it's right by all the dodgy porn cinemas in Soho. Oops.
you didn't know where it was until the other week, how long have you lived in London Stu?
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
only recently figured out Soho properly

I intended to try out all the different eateries in London one by one, but got permanently distracted by the absolutely gorgeous burgers in Eat & Two Veg. Nothing's been able to tempt me away yet, some of the food in other restaurants looks a bit posh for me .
Oh, peking palace was nice (I tried it there before going to E&2V)
BlackCats, is the quarter pounder at V&M any good?
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
^ Yes it was nice, the quarterpounder is hard to eat though as it is quite big, but I managed to do it.
I am going to try Eat and 2 Veg next month (and Peking Palace this Friday.)
I must try eat and 2 vege sometime, I love the lunch buffet at 222 but never tend to be that side of London (and Its another place Ive got lost finding in the past)
Bryzee yes I meant the Regent Palace hotel!
small (and probably dumb) question.
is all the food and drink at Rootmaster vegan? i can't actually find the word 'vegan' anywhere on their website (apart from the ads) but have read the odd comment online that it's a vegan restaurant.
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
I noticed that too (thought it was quite strange it didn't mention it on their website) but asked the first few times I went there and was assured it was vegan. Actually, the first time I went there I asked to see a menu and the server who handed it to me said, almost like a warning, "Just telling you, it's all vegan--no meat, eggs, or dairy... Is that okay with you?" I was just like "Well yeah, since I'm vegan." But you can always ask to double check (and ask them why it's not on their website).
I suspect that they think using the dreaded V-word might scare people away. Methinks it be a business strategy.
You're on a bus!!
Everything is amazing, why are people worried about whether it's got meat or eggs in- you're eating ON A BUS!!!!
thanks guys, i figured it must be some sort of plan not to actually mention the word 'vegan' for fear of putting people off. that sounds like the Tai buffets where i've seen people walk out upon finding out it's all vegan
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
I know its such a shame but its also the funniest site to see!
I tried Eat and 2 Veg today and it was very nice, we had the burgers and fries and even my omni husband liked it. The vegan banana milkshake was totally delicious as well.
cool, still need to try this place

I went to Vita Organic last Thurs and wandered if I might be near some other VF people I know in a virtual way, but not in a real way. I went with a fairly carnivorous Italian friend, who likes raw food, and she enjoyed it too.
Been to London twice in the past two weeks; probably won't go there again for months now.
Last time, went to 222 and thought it was just amazing. Wish there was a place like that near us.
You lucky London things you.
V
(not that I'd actually move there though, I just like the food)
^ Haha, Cornwall is pretty lovely too.
My next places in London to try are Govindas and Pogo and Rootmaster!
i still need to try Eat & Two Veg, and Rootmaster - they were totally booked up for a private party the last time i had a chance to visit
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
I have yet to visit Rootmaster - do I feel a meet up coming on?!

^ Yes.
I'm in.
Black Cats, you're looking rather beefy* today.
(*Peking Palace style soya-beef, of course...)
Mmm I will be having some of that later (soya beef, not Trent Reznor!)
Ah, didn't recognise him!
I had a look at the menu for eat and two veg- I'm disappointed in the lack of vegan desserts!!
That's the highlight of my meal!
i'd be alright then - i prefer savoury food anyway
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
I'm never sure that three is enough...
Did I hear Rootmaster mentioned I shall organise a meet up there when Im next In London I think as I so want to try the food there, got as close as Liverpool station last time but could not find it
it can be a bit of a bugger to find but the food is so worth it
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
I know Il get there one day - next time Im in London Il organise a meet up there then my London forum friends can show me where it is
I should of taken a map or I should learn if/how to use maps on my phone
Bloody hell, I never realised there was anything so close to Liverpool Street! I could have had another reason to be poor!
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
there are a few places in that area as it happens, there is even a kebab shop that does vegan kebabs (I kid you not)
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
No way! Why oh why have I never discovered these places? *shakes head in despair*
Thanks, Bradders. I may pick your brain for pointers at some point if that's ok?
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
ha ha no probs
on brick lane there is the kebab shop (forget what it's called though) and in hoxton not too far away there is a really posh kebab place that I recall having a few vegan options then there are loads of little veggie cafés that are vegan savvy too.
If I sink to the bottom I can run to the shore.
Cool thanks. I'll have a wander round that way next time I'm there.
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
Yes, I vote Alison should organise it, given as she doesn't even live in London. (I'm too scared of starting a meet-up thread and no one turning up.)
Peking Palace was again delicious tonight, my omni brother scoffed the lot. He said that if he was really drunk he wouldn't have really noticed that it wasn't meat. They had these fake prawns/shrimp which were far too realistic looking for me.
