Is afternoon tea not risky enough?

Something like that. Maybe we could go rock climbing with no ropes first.
Cool - that's 8 people interested - just another 2 and we'll have the minimum number required to make it happen. Hopefully we can find a date which suits everyone
I'm interested but unsure about the dates right now. (And I think vegan biscuits are a bit of a cop out unless they are home made.)

I emailed her about the scones, and she said she'd give it a go and let me know
Hoping to get the Bake-a-Boo meet up going (craving cake!) I've checked with Zoe who runs the place and the private party area at the back of the cafe is currently available for all Saturday afternoons in November (I'm away most of October and I thought if we go for November hopefully more people can make it). Personally I don't have anything planned for any Saturdays in November so perhaps people that are interested can list all the days they can make it and then we can see which is the best day and if we have enough people to book (mimimum of ten). I'll need to give Zoe a definate number so please only give dates where you're pretty sure you'll be able to make it. Thank you!
Oooh. I do love afternoon tea. I hope she succeeded with the scones.
edit: November is very far away, but I don't think I have any plans at all.
Am pretty sure I could make the 7th November but not sure after that I'm afraid.
I don't have any plans for November yet. Sounds good to me!
Are we going to try to do this? 28th November is best for me. (7th and 14th are possible but I definitely can't do 21st.)

28th would be good for me too - can't do 14th or 21st and not sure about 7th now.
I think all my Saturdays in November are free so far, but the 7th probably isn't the best because I might have an essay due the 9th.
Think I'm supposed to be in S. London/Kent in the evening of 28th now but that doesn't mean I can't have tea first!
I have been reminded that we need 10 people for the special vegan menu to be provided. Can we whip up any more interest?

What are the details (and menu) for this as I will be interested
I might be able to pressgang Mr Harpy to help make up numbers, if people wouldn't mind an interloper.
I could make it on 14th but not the other days (due to evil work) and would love to meet up with people if it ends up being that date. If not, some other time!
Oh wow! would have love to join you all for afternoon tea.
I had a recent experience at Fortnum & Masons for a friend's hendo. I just thought I'd go and have tea and just to be there for my friend so didn't expect to eat anything. One of the bridesmaids told them I was vegan so could they make me something nice. I was very pleasantly suprised and had probably the yummiest sarnies ever. They even had vegan scones!
Have a great time.
That's interesting to know about F&M. Welcome to the boards bellybuddha - did you know we already have a regular poster called Buddha Belly? I assumed your posts were his posts so I think this similarity in names may cause some confusion!
(By the way, if you now want to change your board name it is possible to do so - just send a 'private message' to one of the moderators. )

I know this thread is a little old but.....
I went to Flemings of Mayfair a few months back for Afternoon Tea. The sandwiches were a little disappointing and if I went back I would check in advance which sandwiches they were offering me.
However, the cakes were AMAZING!!! Seriously go just for the cakes. If anyone is interested I think I have a photo somewhere. Would recommend.
Plus there was a 2 page tea menu and the venue and staff were great
