Did anyone see this in the Guardian earlier in the week?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...hs-meat-carbon
Seemed to be saying that the NHS - which is a huge provider of meals nationwide - would consider doing without meat and dairy in a bid to cut carbon.
Am a bit sceptical myself - I work in the NHS, and every carbon reducing effort seems aimed at short term financial gain - there is rarely any investment in green technology, or even simple stuff like turning off the radiators so we don't have to open the windows! (really)
After the guardian published this, there was an article downgrading it, people saying it wasn't what they really meant

or they should do something different

but also some positive comment
