    Default Emergency cooking questions

    Hi,
    i thought i'd start a thread where u post a question quckly when your cooking if your stuck and need some help. Since not many people are on chat and i'm a little stuck and am half-way cooking my lunch and need an opinion.



    My spinach is 3 days out of date and is slightly wilted, do you think it's going to be ok to eat?

    Does it still smell fresh? If so it should be OK cooked, but I would make sure you give it an extra-thorough wash. If you have time you could put it in cold water for a while first to freshen it up.

    If it smells past its best then I would put it in the compost.

    Oh, that reminds me of the first few weeks of eating lettuce and not remembering that you're supposed to wash it...until a spot of soil ended up in my sandwich! (Ironically enough, I did remember to wash tomatoes??)
