Smile Astrid is coming to Brighton/London!

For the Brighton Vegan Fayre and to meet as many of you forumers as possible!

I haven't ordered my plane ticket yet, because I don't know whether to come Thursday the 19th or friday the 20th. So I'm asking: Would any of you be interested in a little meet-up either in Brighton or London Thursday and/or Friday night?

It looks like there will be quite a few of us in Brighton on the Friday - so a meet-up on the Friday sounds good.

Maybe Gorilla might be able to recommend a place to have something to eat too if that's applicable for everyone?

Perhaps we can meet up and all slap matt35mm? Perhaps as a prelude to a slap-up meal? Community endeavour is always the most satisfying, I find.

umm... there's Bombay Aloo but i know some people aren't keen. there's also the George (i'm not sure if they take bookings now). Food for Friends is a little bit expensive (if only that voucher harpy posted was valid on Fridays!). i've heard good things about the Eagle but i've never been there (and it's not totally veggie), Waves i think is a bit too far from the town centre; everywhere else i can think of are cafes and so not open in the evenings...

^ What about Bombay on the Friday or Saturday?

Everyone was happy with the efforts they made last time (for your birthday).

Might be nice if we could go there again.

As regards Friday, let's see how many are up for it.

I don't mind going to Friends (or as a one off treat - Terre a Terre).

Its rare we get to go to Brighton so I don't mind which place.

The main thing is to pick somewhere everyone can make.

ok - i just seem to remember i had some not-so-complimentary feedback about the place.

the upstairs is good if we have a big enough group.

Plane tickets are now ordered! I'll arrive in London Thursday, March 19th at 6:30 pm (18:30). I'll probably go straight into Brighton by train, so maybe there's time for a meet up then as well, for the people already in Brighton...?

I'm well looking forward to this! VEGAN FAYRE!

We thought you were arranging for the Friday as well....

I'd prefer not to go the Indian place we are going to go to on the Saturday night.

    I'll try anywhere else though.

What about Redveg? Maybe the Red Lion?

oh really? that wasn't made clear to me i'm afraid.

i've never eaten in the Red Lion. Red Veg closes at 8:30 i think and they've often run out of a lot of the food by that time of day.

    Ha ha!

    Had you there

I guess someone needs to pick a place for us all to meet up at on the Friday and maybe we could agree and move onto a place from there?

I'd be up for something to eat early evening if posssible.

    very funny

The George could be a good idea but to be honest i'm not sure i can afford another meal out on Friday as it's getting too close to payday.

who else is actually planning to be around on Friday evening?

Not this time, I'm coming by train, though I do go often drive to these things and would be happy to go via Leamington if you need a lift. The Warwickshire VF group seems to be gathering strength! There are...hmmm...FOUR of us now at least! We should have a mini meet up in Leamington
