Found a little mouse - what to do?

Well, we found this little mouse on the ground outside our place, no sign of family and we have cats so i couldnt leave him there.

He appears unharmed, just closed eyes and trying to burrow as much as possible in the toilet roll i put in a bowl for him.

Hes about as long as my little finger.. very small.

I'm not sure what to do with him.. any suggestions?

If he's not poorly return him to a more sheltered place near where you found him once its dark.

If he seems injured or isn't trying to get away from you take him to Tiggywinkles' which is really near to you.

hes not trying to get away he seems really weak.

Its too late for tiggywinkles tonight but tomorrow i'll ring them.

For now ive put a jam jar lip of luke warm water in there and a little piece if wholemeal bread but hes not interested.
He keeps his eyes closed but hes not playing dead cause he scratches his ears and rolls over sometimes.

im just scared he wont make it =[

we found a little mouse outside our house some time ago. we didn't know what to do either. somehow the mouse must have been separated from it's mother or abandoned. ours seemed weak too. I called around to all the vets and shelters and finally found a shelter about an hour away that had a woman who was known for caring for baby mice. we brought her the mouse and she was going to keep it until it was old enough to be on it's own and then release it in the fields near her.

my advice, call some experts and take their direction.

I wonder if the mouse has been dropped by a bird, I have heard sometimes large birds will take a mouse in their claws, fly with it and then decide to drop it for some reason, if so the mouse could still be in shock.
Also its possible he or she has picked up some poison and is feeling really poorly.
I think you should let him go, in a park or hedgerow, if he starts getting more active and running around.
If he still seems weak take him to the animal sanctuary.

cats sometimes do similar things to mice, just 'play' with them and then if they get disturbed they might just leave the poor little mite terrified and weak
