    Unhappy Diarrhea in toddler

My 3 1/2 year old son has really bad diarrhea that he's had for 4 days now. I've called the doctor and told him about it (Who is also a veg.) and he said that as long as their isn't vomiting also and he's drinking plenty of liquids and still has an appetite, he's just fine. The diarrhea is horrible. I've been trying to feed him things to help him bind up a little, but I'm at a loss here. ANY help would be very very appreciated.
Also, I've tried the Pedialyte stuff and my son WILL NOT drink it because it's so sweet.
    Thanks.

Sorry, but surely this is not the right place to be asking medical questions!

That doesn't stop most other people! I think people are sometimes just worried even though they are getting proper medical help. It's reassuring to hear other people's stories, or just to talk about it.

I hope he gets better soon

Avoid stuff that will stimulate the bowels like onions, garlic, pepper, prunes, apricots, peaches, plums, figs, raisins, oranges.

Eat plain stuff like tofu, rice, live yofu, banana, apple, potato, white bread. Well cooked veg like broccoli, carrots, green beans, spinach should be ok, too.

That's just based on what would work for me
"Danger" could be my middle name … but it's "John"

I really think you should get back in touch with your doctor, and quickly - if the diarrhea is very bad your son may be more dehydrated than you think.

If I had four days of really horrible diarrhea, I'd go to the ER.
    Peace, love, and happiness.

I hope the little one is ok. I recently had diahreah for a week! I hate going to the doctors, but on the 7th day I was starting to get scared so took myself to the ER. As it turns out I was completely dehydrated and they put me on an I.V. right away.

Please let us know how things turned out.

Ask the doc if the child can have rehydration salts. This often helps diarrhea clear up, and stops him getting dehydrated.
