    Default Nut ball recieps?

Does anyone have a recipe for nut balls? I love almonds, peanuts, cashews, walnuts and pecans.

I nut balls, but the only recipes I have call for cheese as the base. I would really appreciate help with this.

    Thanks!

Well, some may say I'm a nutball.

Actually, the kind I used to eat were made of almonds, cashews, pecans and cheese. I just haven't found a base that holds up as well as cheese.

You know the kinds at parties that people would eat w/ crackers?

I like the smaller versions. Sometimes I eat them as a main course.

Have you ever seen the Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook by Joanne Stepianak? The recipes are amazing. I have it at home and will check tonight if there is a recipe for nut balls.

Thanks Feline! I really need to get some vegan cookbooks. I've heard Lorena Sass has a good one. After work, I'm going to Half Price Books.

I had raw vegan nut balls yesterday - they were unbelievable tasty - on par with the best stuff I've ever eaten anywhere - ever. No, they were better. Really.

I asked for the recipe, but this was just something they had improvised and only made that day. Anyway, here's the list of ingredients:

    Fresh basil leaves
    Oregano
    Curry
    A little olive oil
    A little raw onion
    A little raw garlic
    Soaked cashewnuts
    Walnuts
    Sundried tomatoes

All this was put into a blender, and then covered in sesame seeds. They were the size of small falafels, only much better (and I'm, in periods, a falaf-o-holic)!

This was on a raw food cafe, but the nut balls somehow tasted 'warm' even if they were raw and only had room temperature.

If you happen to be in Oslo, here's the place where I got the food: http://www.heltraa.no/

Yum, must try that. Doesn't sound too much trouble either. (I might have to cook the onion and garlic a bit though because they don't agree with me raw - TMI I know.)
