It can be spelt either way!

Last night i used one as a pizza base, scraping of marge on it, some passata, sliced mushrooms and sliced onions, tiny bit of garlic, some mixed herbs, grilled for a few mins........lovely!!!!!!

From where did you acquire your nan?

I've tried many different vegan ones now, but still not anything particularly great. Went through a phase of making my own a while back when I was less lazy, but never quite perfected it.

I tried making some the other night, and they turned out like pita breads... it was not good.

Mine turned out like naan breads, but couldn't get that tandoor cooked effect with a pizza stone and a 250 degree oven.

I used a non vegan recipe, using alpro plain soya yoghurt in place of yoghurt and golden syrup in place of honey. Not sure how authentic honey is, so could have just been a crap recipe.

It was just from the small Asian shop round the corner, they do all sorts of various breads from many different companies, but this is by far the best i've had. Better even than the 'Mrs Unis' ones!
That Clay Oven Bakery are based in Leicester i think!

Sainsbury's used to do a vegan naan bread too but I'm not sure whether they still do (or indeed whether you have Sainsbury's in Edinburgh?).

It isn't/wasn't very good thou. Tescos and Morrisons have both sold vegan versions in the past (may still do), but they're no susbstitute for the ones I used to get from restuarants.

Loads of Sainsburys up here, but supermarkets own arnae a patch on these ones i bought!
They were soft to tear, not cardboardy at all, and kept the moisture and flavour real well, even when grilled to a slight 'char', just as i like them!!!
