"See no, hear no, speak no evil. Leaves you deaf, dumb and blind."
How f*cking annoying! I'm off to buy a rabbit from a breeder now so I can have it for a pet until I get hungry and then I will kill it and eat it.
I don't think that person quite understands the concept of a companion; hope I don't meet him in a dark alleyway when he's feeling peckish.
I thought we discussed the New Scientist report here a while back but but now I can't find the thread. I suspect that like humans domestic cats and dogs can be a bit of an ecological disaster, which is another reason for not encouraging people to breed more (though arguably not for wiping out the ones that already exist).
I think it misses the point that breeding animals for pets is the 'problem' (blaming companion animals for what we've done to the environment seems like a poor excuse).
I bet the author of this article eats more meat and poops more than my dog. Solution...eat him?
I'm losing faith in humanity.

Okay yeah 'pets' are bad for the environment. I'll buy that. But what about all the meat that humans eat? Hello?! Carbon-footprint much?!?! If companion animals are the real probably with pollution, then it's our fault anyway. Don't blame environment woes on animals that we as humans domesticated. Damn! You point the finger and there's three pointing right back at you.
And that rabbit thing at the end was beyond words. Reminds me of Jim Gaffigan's bit on pigs.
K, rant over.
People will probably read that article and connect feeding meat to their dog as being bad for the environment but will not make the connection with eating meat themselves.
Agree that the issue of breeding could have been introduced into the article since it is the root of the problem!
Uh... how about MAN IS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
? Whose environment are we talking about?
