    Default Jus-Rol pastry

I don't know the most relevant place to post this, and I didn't want it to get stuck in the Morrison's thread, but when I was in there today I picked up som Jus-rol puff pastry sheets... not the square polythene pack but a long, green cardboard box, and they are now vegan. The other three Jus-rol pastry products are not vegan, but that one definitely is. Going to make roasted vegetable tarts with mine!

I'm sure this will be moved to the most relevant place!

I think quite a lot of their pastry is vegan, Blueberry - although they definitely make some that isn't as well. Not sure how up-to-date this is:

Thanks for that Harpy, but they all say L-Cysteine on the packaging, except for the one I bought today, and fatty acids, which I assumed would say "vegetable fatty acids" if they were vegan? Don't forget, I'm a new vegan, so could be over cautious!

Quite a lot are listed on the Vegan Society's Animal-Free Shopper web-site

...but you're probably wise to be cautious.

Edited to add that L-Cysteine is on their list of ingredients that can be either animal-derived or not http://www.vegansociety.com/hubpage....rms=L-cysteine - so one assumes someone's checked in this instance!

I was thrilled when I discovered Jus-Rol was vegan - it was nothing but pesto/roast veg tarts for a week or so :P

They really are fantastic and so versatile and so on, really easy to use. I <3 them big time

I'm still very cautious and I've been a Vegan over a year now..I'll have to look out for those Jus-rol puff pastry sheets and pick some up..

You should Savegan, I've used the puff pastry, filo pastry and shortcrust before now....all very exciting, if you like that sort of thing

Aha. I knew that both types of puff pastry were vegan, but I hadn't noticed that they had slightly different ingredients. I was wondering why my sausage rolls were different when I used the sheets instead of the big block. I thought it must be something to do with the way I rolled it out
