They have a very cheap brand (yellow/white packet) and a slightly more expensive brand (brown packet) the ingredients look vegan to me, can anyone confirm for me please?
The only dodgy things might be; E503, E500 and the vague 'flavourings'.

e500 = sodium carbonate
e503 = ammonium carbonate
both fine.
according to animal free shopper (8th edition), somerfield bourbons are fine.
Nice one, thank you
according to my ENumber search program on my phone it says E503 Avoid It....Irritant to mucous membranes (They line various body cavities that are exposed to the external environment and internal organs. They are at several places continuous with skin: at the nostrils, the mouth, the lips, the eyelids, the ears, the genital area, and the anus. The sticky, thick fluid secreted by the mucous membranes and glands is termed mucus. )

still vegan, though...
Ammonium Carbonate is smelling salts, hence the irritation....
But, when you heat it, it breaks down into ammonia and carbon dioxide, both gases, which will dissipate, so by the time you get the biscuits there will be no ammonia or ammonium carbonate left to act as an irritant.
It's a much more efficient raising agent than sodium bicarbonate, and it doesn't raise add sodium to the food.
"Danger" could be my middle name … but it's "John"
