    Talking Womad 2005

The Womad organisers are keen to have Thames Valley Vegans and Vegetarians back again after last year, to hold an info stand.

WOMAD is a festival of World music and arts. I went a few years ago, and had a grand day out. This year its Thursday the 28th to Sunday the 31st of July.

It's already a very veggie friendly event and over 24,000 people of all ages attend. If you are local to Reading, and can help out, contact Thames Valley Vegans and Vegetarians or simply say hello if you go.

When I saw the title "Womad", I immediately thought of Peter Gabriel, and when I cliked on gertvergan's link, I was glad to see that this festival was "inspired" by this inspiring artist/humanitarian/poet/friend of animal's (how great is it to teach primates (I think it was baboons??) music on the piano a few years ago i(f I remember correctly). Peter Gabriel is one of the greatist artists of our time imo, I saw him live in Cleveland in November 2002, one of the most memorable shows I've seen ever.
Wish I could be in England to go to this, it sounds like a wonderful experience!

i've been thinking of going to a festival for 25 years! never been to one though; wanted to but never had anybody to go with. now that i'm out of the festival age group i can't really see that changing. i think i'd feel out of place.
