Default Mountain biking meet with picnic :) Sept 5th, Forest of Dean

We're having a regular mountain biking meet up on the first Sunday of each month. We're gonna start with the Forest of Dean as it's fairly central and has riding suitable for ALL abilities.

The first one will be on 5th September.

We're gonna meet at the car park by the Pedalabikeaway cycle centre:

We'll probably meet up between 10 and 11 am but can always meet late starters after. We'll have a picnic lunch break too.

If you fancy having a go, come along! Don't let lack of fitness or bike (I can find spare) put you off. There is a good variety of trails that can be as gentle or extreme as you like

I'm travelling down from Leicester and have space if anyone wants to lift share from that way.

I'd be quite interested in that. I have a full-size folding bike, though not a 'mountain' bike, that just fits in the back of the car. I drive down most of that that route, M50, A40, regularly on the way to South Wales. I keep meaning to explore to area, like visiting Goodrich Castle, one day when I get the time (or can be bothered to drive there when it's not part of a work journey)

Awesome, you'd be most welcome to join us!

I believe the route we're planning is graded as 'family' so sure your bike would be fine

Cool, I love this sort of thing. The Glasgow Vegan Meetup has had (fairly) regular outdoor picnics this summer and they've been fab.

Apologies for when you get back for my not turning up. The forecast didn't look too good for the area - fair weather cyclist eh? I've just been out on the bike and it started spotting with rain. (In any case if it had stayed dry today I would have done someone outdoor DIY, sanding down and painting the window frames). If you are arranging one a bit nearer, then I'd be interested.

No worries...It was an awesome day though. As there weren't many of us we did the DH runs all day. It was loads of fun, one of us crashed several times in quite amusing ways

Where are you based (ie. where would be a bit nearer)?
