Yes, or better: the most similar taste to the Masala Dosa they serve in (South) India...

from what i know, the technique of fanning the batter out with the ladle is correct - however when we have made them, they have been thicker and more pancake like.
i'd like to make them thinner - practice i guess.
I can't claim to be an expert, but I have used a recipe from Madhur Jaffrey several times with great success. It also uses a rounded soup spoon to spread them out.
The recipe uses long-grain rice and urad dal which you grind and ferment oveernight. Is this what you are looking for Korn?
