Since I don't know what a wurzles is, I'll take your word for it. I know I'm a native New Jerseyan because I can tell you where Bruce Springsteen grew up (Freehold, NJ) and what bridge is shown during the opening bit of The Sopranos, which I've only seen twice (Pulaski Skyway).

. What would really be funny is for a non-native American/English speaker to take the quiz. One of my closest friends is Italian and a fluent English speaker (works for British Airways) but she still can't detect the difference between my accent and someone from Texas. That always amazed me. Though she can detect difference in English accents but I guess because she spent so much more time there.
My mum thought that Callie Duquenes (CSI:Miami) was from South Africa - not the kind of 'southern belle' accent the producers/actors were aiming for I don't think

Never heard of that show, don't have television. We have a DVD/VCR to watch videos, that's all. I love some of those movies/shows where they have an actress or actor doing a horrible accent but doing so seriously. Like Dick van Dyke doing his cockney in Mary Poppins.

Just to confuse you all I was born in the Welsh Marches.
I was 52% Dixie, but most of my answers said, "Western Great Lakes" or "Midwest/Chicago".

I was talking to a British fellow at a bar who had a similar attitude. He told me that he liked it better here than in England. However, he couldn't explain what he liked about New Jersey. I suggested the proximity to New York City but he said that he had only been there once and wasn't that impressed. I really wanted to know because I can't explain just what it is I like about New Jersey either.

When we were kids we used to catch crawdads in Pine Lake, at Sigmund Stern Grove, near my grandparents house in the Sunset District. We would make bread balls, tie them to strings, and the crawdads would clamp down on them with their claws. We would put them in a bucket of water to look at for a while, and then put them back. I will never forget the following argument between two bystanders:
"Ah, I see you are catching crayfish." said the first man in very smooth, cultured tones, bending over the bucket.
"Naw, those'r crawdads!" exclaims the second man.
"Well, I call them crayfish."
"WELL, AH CALL 'EM CRAWDADS!"

I´m from Austria but I´m 100% Dixie. Isn´t that weird. I think it´s quite flathering, that I´m at least a full southerner!
