If I do go to France to visit my cousin in Vienne, I will have to ask you where I can get these items from??.

U find them in health food stores or in the health section of supermarkets, such as carrefour or 'géant'. ( called ' rayons biologiques ou dietetiques' )

Hi guys! I'm recently converted Vegan from Lacto veggie in the UK and I'm just sticking beaking around the shops armed with my "Animal Free Shopper" guide!! I bought a tub of SojaSun and it said Live....whatever? But it didn't say Yoghurt? Its not in the Vegan Society Animal Free Shopper? Does anyone know why? Also its not branded ----suitable for Vegans---- is it because its LIVE? Perhaps live products are not permitted in the Vegan diet? Any light anyone could throw on this would be appreciated. I tried going into www.sojasun.com but its in French and I'm said to say I speak Spanish and not French. Que mal! I'm really enjoying my new lifestyle and cooking is a real venture looking for new and exciting food combinations every day.
    Thanks.

Question Re: Favourite Vegan Food Products - France

    yo, it's the newbie...
I am traveling to seven different countries this summer in Europe. I have never been there before, and in each hotel I will be served breakfast and dinner...however, they said they will not be making any exceptions for "special diet" peeps!!! So I think, "o shnars, that's me!" Do you have any suggestions for the times I am out on the town for lunch and need to get some Vegan refreshment? This info would help me out a lot. Thank you!!

You can also find many vegan products in organic stores like Naturalia and the independant ones. Be careful though, it's way more expensive than supermarkets.

Love the organic aubergine paté, can't remember the brand but I've bought it at Casino and Leclerc. Best sandwich spread EVER! When I go back to France from the UK I will be taking cheezly, pure marg, tofutti, plamil chocolate, vegan marshmallows, parmazzano and cheddareese, but when I come back to the UK from France, I will be bringing about 10 tubs of the paté!

Well never mind the paté... dark chocolate vegan wafers!! I cook most of my own stuff from scratch here but was still excited to find an entirely vegetarian shop + resto in Marseille where I bought:

Cheezly!! Yes actual cheezly in France, made by redwood but with french packaging! It was the mozarella kind.

Rice skooshy cream in a can

Sojami soft cheese and garlic style spread (not tried it yet)

Various vegan pasties from the bakery

    dark chocolate vegan wafers

Nearly died of excitement finding that place, could have bought lots more but I'm leaving in a week and a half

Also found soya ice cream in a biocoop in Coustellet, but it was extortionate, and coustellet is an hour away from where I am... but I bought some anyway, and it didn't melt!

Also in Avignon biocoop found vegan fake meats and vegan margarine.

It's now just before I leave that I see that being vegan here is really not so hard, the only problem is restaurants...

'Rice skooshy cream in a can'

Is this like spray cream? Or is it more like a tin can?
Could you tell me who it is made by?....I really need this!
The day breaks and everything is new.

Soyatoo Rice Whip Rice Spray Cream

I liked it but it isn't exactly like cream- I don't think it could 'fool' anyone into thinking it was cow cream, but I think it tasted all right and was my first vegan spraycream experience. Unfortunately it ran out of gas and now I can't get any more out, even though there's loads left in it- anyone know if there's a solution to this? I think it was to do with storing it in the fridge, it says 'do not store the can too cold!'- d'oh!
