I really like the President Choice's organic products. I tried their natural peanut butter, jam, pretzels, soup stock, and a few other odd things I really like them...also since it's a store-brand it's a bit cheaper than other organic stuff.

I enjoy many of the President's Choice products as well. Makes eating organically a lot cheaper and easier!
I am a fan of Yves veggie products. Some of them aren't vegan but most of them are.
I am also a fan of the Silk non-dairy coffee creamer.
My favourite packaged soup (beause there's not always time to make it from scratch) is Pacific Creamy Butternut Squash soup.
I love the Green Cuisine smoked tempeh patties and make my own peanut sauce to go with them!
I have lots of other favourites too - but these are the ones that come to my mind first.
Wow, I'd raid the freezer section for these bad boys if I lived up there:

meatless
The Montreal Smoked Wheat sounds delicious! Can I get it anywhere in Ottawa?

I'm pretty sure I've seen it at Herb & Spice on Bank Street.
I just had some 'meat' balls that were fantastic, I think they were Yves, didn't buy or cook them myself so I didn't see the packet.
Also check out Soy Delicious non-dairy ice cream, gorgeous. They have that at Herb and Spice as well, some great flavours, like chocolate/peanut butter and mint chocolate.
Awesome, thanks! I'm going head out there today and see if I can find them. I've had some type of soy ice cream, but I dont think it was Soy Delicious, and it wasn't very good. The peanut butter flavour does sound tempting, I might have to pick that up as well.

The Montreal Smoked Wheat is also available at Rainbow Foods.
The Peanut Butter zig zag Soy Delicious is my absolute favorite!!
I had the smoked wheat today , and wow I thought for sure it was smoked meat. The smell was inotxicating, exactly like meat. Blehhhhh, I ate it and now I feel kinda sick. I think I've completely lost my taste for meat. But it did taste like I remember, I don't think I'll be picking it up again..unless I get some kind of meat craving.
I wanted to get the soy delicious peanut butter ice cream but I didnt have enough cash!

Did you eat it all at once? I usually make one package last about 3-4 sandwiches.
Well if I wanted to do it classic smoked meat style then I would have, but no I didnt. I made 2 sandwiches out of it, and then I gave the rest to my dog. She really enjoyed it though.

I am not a big fan of the fake meats. Although I do like Yves' soy deli slices. They make school lunches easier.
I always use "So Nice" soymilk I like it a whole lot.

the smoked wheat is amazing, i find it kind of expensive for only two sandwhiches, but i enjoy it all the time
sol cuisine is good too, chocolate cool hemp ice cream,
im not to big on the yves products since i think mcdonalds uses their veggie burgers, but the yves breakfast links are amazing i cant lie
In Regina, we have a place called Old fashion Foods (i don't know if there are any anywhere else in Canada) and they grind their own peanut butter from organic peanuts right there in front of you. It is so good! I can't even imagine eating any other kind ever again.
Hey its too bad that this thread got dropped in April. There is still lots of neat-o Canadian products to discuss.
I tried a vegan frozen dessert the other day (just to let anyone not from the Maritimes know, the term "the other day" refers to anytime that is not now) and it was AWESOME!!
It was called 'Cool Hemp' and it is an ice-cream like product made out of hempseeds by a company out of the Ottawa Vally. Cool Maple is The Best flavour. And all three flavours have Omega-3s due to the hemp.
I wonder if this is available in the United States.
Interesting...it means the same thing for us in saskatchewan tooVernicious Knid
Oooooo Yummy! I've never seen that product here before.Vernicious Knid

Sweep Pops kettle corn!! Locally made and sooooo tasty!!
Vernicious Knid - I have that ice cream here in ontario. I've never tried it, but I want to get some now! The maple one sounds delish!
Tina - I love tropical source chocolate too... BUT the only store in my town that carries it, doesn't carry it anymore. Everytime I went grocery shopping, I noticed they were out of stock. So I asked when they thought they would get them back in (the chocolate chips), and she said "oh soon"......ya......that was 8 months ago. They still have the price sign up and a coupon for them!
I buy an organic dark chocolate bar now and chop it up to make cookies.
But it's not as good as T.S. chocolate chips!
I also like harvest sun boullion cubes ... I make potato/leek soup with them!
I love all three flavors - veg., onion, and herb!
Now that I look at your list, we seem to go to the same grocery chain store....
I cannot find Earth Balance though... I would love to.
I love vanilla almond milk with puffed millet cereal! (I forget the brand names...)
I also love Amy's lentil vegetable soup
I buy garden of eatin' black bean tortilla chips with the organics brand salsa - yum!
By the sounds of it, I think there must be a whole different selection of vegan foods on the east coast compared to the west coast!
I don't know if I mentioned this already but, President Choice makes a very yummy instant vegetatrian chili.
Peace, love, and happiness.
The other day I tried for the first time a So Good Icecream Cone. Yummmmm!!!!!!!!
http://www.so-good.ca/english/products_cones.html
I wrote to the people at So Good and asked if the were vegan. Here's the response that I got.
Woohoo!Thank you for contacting Soyaworld. Yes, the So Good Cones are suitable for Vegans. All ingredients are from either plant or mineral source. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions or concerns.
Oh, I never seen those here. I miss ice cream cone treats! My fav used to be Klondike bars.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Ive had nice ice cream. I think Tofutti do it. There was a chocolate covered one, and one that looked like a cornetto. They were delicious.
- Bombay canned organic beans in the enamel lined cans--fab
- The new frozen Commensal meals are good, esp. the seitan based
- Vegan Delights crackers and sweets
- "Bite me" cookies--New Moon bakery
- Kensington Bakery fruit swirls and flax muffins (a bit o' honey)
We've got a great selection of vegan foods made right here in (o) CA.
Non-violence begins on your plate.
oliveoil
If they have honey, they aren't vegan...
Peace, love, and happiness.
I found non-hydrogenated Toffuti cream cheese today.
I love that stuff

Mmmm - I just tried it a few minutes ago on a sandwich. It is good!
That stuff is heaven sent, I swear.Roxy
I find (for grocery stores, and I'm in Nanaimo, BC) Thrifty's, SaveOn & Fairway Markets all have a lot of vegan selection compared to others. Plus there are a ton of natural food stores on the island.
I wish we had a Wild Oats though. When I was in Washington they had a ton of organic fruits and veggies compared to the places up here.
Wow Tina, I buy almost everything on your list on a regular basis! Except the veggie burgers, tamari, and brown rice pasta. It must be a coincidence, because I never knew until now how similar our grocery lists are! Though, I place the blame squarely on you for getting me addicted to Noel Nogfoxytina_69
I also love the President's Choice Organic stuff, but it's only available at one grocery store near Victoria, which is almost a half hour drive away, so I don't go there very often. It's soooooo cheap though, that it would probably be worth the extra gas. I should sit down one day and do the math to see what's more cost-effective
I love natural sodas like those fruit spritzers and organic root beer (sorry, can't remember the brand).
Imagine Organics makes a great no-chicken broth. It's a perfect subsititute in recipes, and tastes better than substituting plain veggie broth.
Oh and Lifestream waffles are GREAT!

PRESIDENT'S CHOICE ORGANIC CAKE MIXES!
Unlike Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker mixes which contain insanely long lists of ingredients, iffy mono-and-diglycerides, and generally crappy ingredients....PC's Oraganic's line has none of that crap in their cake mixes. Just flour, sugar, etc.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Australian Vege Chips now available in Canada.

one of my favorite products here is the lundberg brown rice chips. mmmm. and yucatan brand guacamole.

"you dont have to be tall to see the moon" - african proverb
I bought BOTH the Lundberg rice chips (Pico de Gallo flavour) and the Yucatan guacamole at grocery shopping on Tuesday. I had some chips and guac yesterday afternoon for a snack. I ended up doubling my snack size because they were sooooo good lol
Do you by the mild, medium or spiciest Yucatan? I buy the spiciest one with the red on the label.
i like the spiciest too roxy!
another favorite product:
so good chocolate cones!!!
"you dont have to be tall to see the moon" - african proverb
Mmmmm - yes they ARE good! I try not to eat them very often though because they're soooo high in fat!! Fattening but TASTY
steevs obsessed with them LOL. he almost fainted when he saw that they existed. it was all over but the cryin after that!
"you dont have to be tall to see the moon" - african proverb
dehulled hemp seeds.. there are a few different brands available
great protein source
I love Soy Delicious but as far as everyday food items go, I can't do without my Nuvel margarine (unfortunately they pulled it from shelves here, so I have to buy it from a thankfully very understanding distributor) and So Good Omega Original soymilk.
I bought these tempeh burgers that come from BC. I am going to try them tonight.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Update!
I've tried a few products in the past couple of months, here are my favourite.
-YOSO brand soy yogurt (fortified with extra calcium, unlike So Nice soy yogurt and have a nice tartness).
-Our Compliments organic line (in Eastern Canada you can buy these in Sobeys) makes these awesome mini chocolate chips cookies! They taste a lot like Mr Christies Chips Ahoy cookies. They don't try to be uber healthy--just yummy!
-Ritter Sport brand of marzipan dark chocolate (I bought it at Shoppers). If you like marzipan, you might like this.
-Vans brand blueberry waffles, they don't have chunks of flax or whole grains like some other vegan/organic waffles. They are gluten-free too and sort of have a weird sweet aftertaste to them? But they are good, though.
And not food but another vegan product I like:
-Nature's Gate roll-on deodorant in "Spring Fresh". It works better than the stick format.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Thanks Tigerlily
I've never seen Yoso, so I'll have to have a look around for it.
We buy Our Compliments products at IGA stores here. I'm going to an IGA this afternoon, so I'll have a look for those choc-chip cookies.
I also really like the President's Choice Dark Chocolate Mint Thins that you found and recommended
Yoso is an Ontario brand of soy yogurt, I don't think it's widely distributed yet. I think maybe only in Eastern Canada?
I forgot to add those chocolates to my list, I knew I forgot something when I hit send! I love them! The whole box is gone already. I'm going to buy more!
Peace, love, and happiness.
I bought 4 boxes!
I have a new favourite salad dressing! It's the Rich Poppyseed Dressing from Brianna's Salad Dressings.
I checked the ingredients over (all seemed vegan) brought it home and ate it on a couple of salads. My boyfriend also dipped banana pieces in it and said it was really good. It's sooooo creamy and yummy! Kinda fattening though (14g in 2 tablespoons), but it's all natural and all good!
I wrote to Brianna's to double check that it was vegan and yep....it is!! They also told me that their Santa Fe, Blush Wine, French Vinaigrette and Zesty French dressing are vegan too.
Question for Tigerlily (or anyone else in eastern Canada):
Do they sell Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheese where you live? I was under the impression that it was only available in the west, (which I thought was confirmed when I visited several health food stores in Quebec City without finding it). But then I read some comments on a site about Ottawa health food stores, which made it seem like you could get the cheese in the east! I'm moving to Ottawa in a few months, and the worst part about moving (besides leaving all my friends behind LOL) was the thought of losing my cheese!
