Goodlife Butternut Squash Roasts (Frozen - the pack contains two thick burgers and two sachets of tomato sauce to serve with them.)

I found these in Sainsburys a few weeks back and tried one the other day. Very nice indeed!

    Default Sheese

OH MY G*D! Just tried Hickory Smoked Sheese (Isle of Bute) - it is FANTASTIC! Really really recommend it! Off to enjoy my Sheese Sarnie
I saw an advert, possibly in the Vegan Society magazine, indicating that the product formerly known as Scheese had been reformulated without the hydrogenated vegetable oil, and renamed Sheese, but I haven't seen any since then. Does anyone know where you can get it, please?

Out Of This World stores sell Scheese, at least the Leeds one does.

edit: They have a website: http://www.ootw.co.uk/m1aboutus.shtml

Ooh, they have a new one opening in York with a cafe. York really needs more veggie places so that's good news.

I recently tried the hickory smoked one too, on Cumin's recommendation. If it's not too horrible a comparison, it reminds me of that processed smoked cheese that comes in red plastic! Fantastic! I've seen the new sheese packets in a health food shop, but what I'm really waiting for is the creamy sheese so I can make cheesecake

My favourite vegan foods are whizzers, plamil mint chocolate and pringles bacon crisps which are now labeled vegan.

Scheese soft cheese is so yummy!

Got the garlic and herb one and the plain and found a chive one in the vegan shop in Birmingham today!

    So nice!

Wow, I didn't realise it was already available in different flavours! I've only seen the plain one here.

I just love Sutaki pies at the moment. Had one for the first time the other day - certainly not the healthiest of pies, but they are delicious!

Oh yes!! We have a standing order at our local shop for these every week. They are the best! Why do you think they're not healthy? I know they've got pastry, but they're full of lovely lentils, carrots etc... Lovely with chips, peas and gravy

I think my husband bought it from a local health food shop in Glasgow but I have a vague recollection that Holland & Barrett sell it as well... can't promise!

Regarding Goodlife Bean burgers and Nut cutlets..

    Quote Cumin View Post
These are now labelled vegan - along with their nut cutlets. I just bought some of each and will be sampling them soon.
FYI: We tried them both last night and I liked nut cutlet best, but thought the burger nice too - a good crunchy breadcrumb coating. The cutlet is really just a nutty burger, but a good one I think.

OOps - sorry I see how I confused it now.

I'm talking about Goodlife Spicy Bean burgers and Nut Cutlets. I'll edit my previous post to clarify this. Thanks for spotting the mistake Marrers.
I also contacted Grassingtons to confirm about their burgers, but I've not had a reply yet.

I am addicted to Rookbeare sorbet - Dark Cherry flavour. If that is the sort of flavour you like I highly recommend it!

I have only seen it in Waitrose in Lewes so far - have checked 2 other branches so far, they didn't stock it.

No they don't seem to have them on their website. I think there are quite a few chocolates that are vegan and not listed on the website. You just have to check all of the packets of dark chocolates! You know the bit where they do the packets of 6 chocolates? At least they do label them clearly.

The Golden spur ones are new I think - hazelnut praline coated in dark chocolate. I'm drooling just thinking about them

I went looking for Golden spur chocs in local hotel choc - none left they had removed last few as close date however they did have new ones smudge - dark choc with praline soft centres - so yummy!

Got chatting with the manager - she said they are getting requests for more vegan chocs - said to tell vegan friends to email via contact page of their website - the more requests for vegan chocs the more they will make - all different types!

    So get emailing

I just discovered this vegan cheese sauce powder:
    http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/471273.html
Sold in Tescos and Holland and Barrett.

I plan to have macaroni cheese this week! I had it yesterday on my veggies with some cheesley mixed in and it was weirdly cheesey (if a little like Wotsits). Anyway, it's better than the dairy style cheese sauce made from a powder - that is if my memory serves me well from back in the day; you know when there was a war on and we all gleefully ate powdered food every day! Seriously, I'm not sure if I remember what cheese tastes like at all, but it well reminded me of cheese.

Also Linda McCartney wrote to a friend of mine and listed their new quarter pounders as vegan. I checked today out of interest and they are not. It says contains milk on the back of the packet which is a big indication...

I've had them, one in a mega sandwich type scenario which was really nice, and then as part of an easy-roast yesterday. I think I like them. I bought them on a bit of a whim to make some beanburgers up to the "buy 2 for £3" thing hehe. I can't tell if they really taste like chicken or not. They're not the kind of thing I usually have, so I think that's why I enjoyed them... something different! Would I be remembering correctly if I said they have strangely few ingredients for supermarket foods? I seem to remember being surprised and impressed.

Yeah they did seem almost healthy with lots of added fibre - presumably for texture. We had them with spring greens, mash, and gravy. Deep fried in batter in a bun might be good.

may i please make a small mention of the New Covent Garden soup of the month - they're selling a special Halloween soup and unlike most of their soups, it's actually vegan! it's pumpkin and pepper, it's really yummy and a percentage of the proceeds goes to help the Bat Conservation Trust.

Trufree advises customers to be cautious

Trufree the maker of wheat-free and gluten-free biscuits, snacks and pasta, is advising consumers with a dairy intolerance that its new custard cream biscuits now contain milk.

As part of a recent re-launch the new improved recipe for the biscuits now contains a small amount of milk.

Managing director, Chris Hook said: “The pack clearly states in the allergens box that the custard creams contain milk. However, as a precaution we have decided to add a ‘contains milk’ sticker to all our packs after a number of calls from concerned customers who have to follow a milk free diet seeking clarification.

He added: “These are our most popular biscuits and we would like to reassure our customers that we are committed to offering them delicious wheat-free and gluten-free food.”

Mr Hook continued that anyone who has bought a packet of the biscuits and is concerned should call the Trufree Careline on 07041 544 044. Trufree will be happy to offer a full refund to anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.
