I don't like the whole touting of things as being 'x% fat free' as it suggests that fat is an evil plauge to be avoided at all times. 2% fat isn't that bad at all really though, when you consider (depending on who you ask) 20-30% of of daily calories are supposed to come from fat, and each gram of fat provides about 9 calories.
I do want to try one of those now....

I've just phoned to check that Mr Kipling's treacle tart is suitable for vegans.
Idleness is not doing nothing. Idleness is being free to do anything. - Floyd Dell
Tescos treacle tart seems to be vegan as well
I feel a treacle tart shopping trip coming on!
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
Is treacle tart actually made with treacle? I've always wondered.

i hate treacle tart!
my favourites at the moment are cheatin meats, the slices and the roasts.
i feel like i need something to really sink my gnashers into

Is Mr Kipling's Treacle Tart any good, do you know?

Oooh, if you make your own treacle tart, try handing a handful or cornflakes. I've not done it myself, but my Dad swears by it.

i haven't been able to find the Mr Kipling treacle tart anywhere, but i did find Tesco's and it's very nice indeed with warm Alpro custard

Poundstretcher have just got in some plastic easter eggs with popping candy and stickers inside, and for once the popping candy doesn't have lactose in it! It was marked suitable for vegetarians so I emailed them just to confirm that the flavouring was vegan and it is!
I got a Hello Kitty one, it's the most garish pink imagineable Apparently they also do a spider man one, so I thought I'd let people know in case they want an alternative to dark chocolate eggs for their kids (or themselves). 99p each.

Hmm, if I'd have known this was going to be split into a new thread I would have just made an actual thread called "vegan easter treats" or something...

I've only recently tried Linda McCartney's sausages and I really like them. They're a pound in Farmfoods. I also love smoked tofu - I buy tofu made locally by the Engine Shed. But I got to the farmers' market too late today to get some (having to endure the 'happy meat' brigade). Wheat gluten in tins from a Chinese supermarket. Raw onions - love, love, love raw onions at the moment. Nootch on toast.
Alpro Strawberry Milkshakes <3
Redwoods cheatin' Slices
Dairy free Vegan White buttons
I use to love popping candy before I went Vegan..I'll be on the look out for those easter eggs.
*edit* I managed to find the Hello Kitty Egg..and luckierly I knew it was the right one because of the Blue Spiderman eggs next to them..
Thanks Twinkle

I love that Alpro or Provamel vanilla yoghurt in big pots. Although I prefer Provamel, at least it's organic. It's a pity that you can't find it in aregular supermarket.
Also I love Marigold braised tofu. I am addicted to it and it's cheaper in the UK than at home.
Sheese cheeses.
And dairy free fudge by the Fabulous Fudge Factory.
Organica's dark chocolate hazelnut nougat thing.
Oh, I wish you didn't have so much tasty vegan stuff, I spend all my money on food
The new soy free cheesley beats every other vegan cheese I've tried. I even gave the stuff up earlier this year until by chance I tried the above. Also love smoked tofu, Sojade yogurts and milk, Vitalite (now its vegan), cowgirl steaks and Frys sausage rolls.
Provamel banana milk (amazing!)
Levi roots Caribbean curry sauce in the jar
Nakd cocoa orange bars
Tofutti cheddar style slices
Fry's 'chicken' nuggets - had these for the first time yesterday after not having nuggets since I was eating quorn as a kid!
Redwoods Lincolnshire sausages
Redwoods pepperoni
Tesco vegetable spring rolls
Alpro soya custard
"Life is life – whether in a cat, or dog or man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man’s own advantage."
asda's humous is my fave food right now. especially with the little bag of carrot sticks they sell ^_^
i also love veggie sushi (its misconception that sushi is fish, the rice is what gives it it's name it's just that the fish one seems most popular but the ones with veg or tofu instead is delicious!) the nicest is the yo sushi vegetarian picnic packs or sushisan veg pack which you can get from wilkinsons.
also alpro soya light rasberry and vanilla yogurts are amazing!
Sushisan veg pack from Wilkinsons? Do they sell food?
I doubt that it's the right thread but I would like to as which ones of the onion rings are vegan, if there are any? I've tried Red Veg's onion rings and they were yummy but usually in pubs they are called "Beer battered onion rings" and I am afraid that this batter might contain sour milk or something like that. Also, are there any vegan crisps style packed onion rings, you know, the ones that are next to potato crisps in the shops? I've checked Sainsbury's, co-operative and MS and they all had milk in them
I think most frozen supermarket onion rings are vegan, both battered and breaded.
Hey!
I just noticed that the Innocent meal pots are listed as being vegan. Eg, Daal Curry, Masala Vegetables, Moroccan Squash, Sweet Potato & Chilli, Coconut Curry Vegetables.
I've never had them before but am tempted as Sainsbury's are selling them BOGOF at the moment.
Are they nice?
I had one ages ago, can't remember which one, but i was underwhelmed. I think only one or two were vegan back then.
I just found jelly bean eggs in Marks and Spencer, and they seem to be vegan-no animal products listed, just 2 E Numbers (E553b and E903 - both listed as vegan on http://www.food-info.net).
Im going to email M&S to comfirm but I seem to have finally found jelly beans I can actually eat (the only other ones I know of are the Traditional Candy Companies - and they're really hard to get hold of) and ther are delicious.
B&M Bargains are selling Chocolate chip peanut butter (£0.39 for a 275 gram jar) - Its VERY nice
Firestorm, that choc chip peanut butter sounds nice is it dark chocolate chips?
Ooh think I will go to my local B&M tomorrow, see if they have any in..do you eat it straight from the jar ?
Oh now you're talking, mmm white choc buttons
I've recently opened a jar of Plamil's new Milk chocolate style spread. Its really nice but quite runny, it has the texture of a chocolate spread but the consistency of syrup or salad creme - its very nice on cold bread out of the fridge. I've kept it in the fridge since opening, which has made it slightly more firm, but its still very runny. Has anyone else tried this?
No, I didn't know there was such a thing, Firestorm. Have you tried it on salad?
[Dark] Chocolate is sometimes added to gravy or sauces for with game (/ meat from wild animals)
That's a Mexican thing isn't it, meat with a sauce made of cocoa (and chillis I think)? I have been quite tempted to try it with tofu but have never got around to it. I don't think it would work so well with milk-type chocolate
My colleague was actually talking about chicken and the chocolate off profiteroles with fried chicken Sounds awful to me.
M&S do a Vegan Ancho Chilli Mole Sauce with chocolate in it for making chilli con carne, I tried it and it was quite good.
