Default The Global Vegan Waffle Cookbook

This book by Dave Wheitner has been heavily advertised to me on Facebook, and suggestible as I am I'm now really fancying waffles. I had a look on Amazon where it's for sale but there are no reviews yet so I wondered if anyone had it?

Or if not, do you have any good waffle recipes?

Mmh, I'll definately will have a look for this, although I don't trust 5 star ratings, especially when there are only a few..

I'm not even that partial to waffles and those pictures on Amazon have me drooling. The almond amaranth ones with the amaretto sauce look amazing. If anyone tries this book, please post a review.

I got this book as a gift for new year and decided to throw a waffle party
i made the plain waffles, ginger-lemony-chocolate waffles, cinnamon-raisin waffles, sesamy waffles from the book. They all tasted great! the guests brought toppings like mushroom spread, avocado chocolate mousse, chickpea cashew coconut curry, vegan cream, tofutti cream cheeze, veggie salad, cherry jam... and soy macchiato drink and lots of tea. We had a great day! Next party will be a pancake party, but i sure will throw another waffle party.
I can definitely recommend this book, especially if you need to gain weight, hehe

    A waffle party sounds awesome!

Can I just ask a stupid question..do you need a waffle iron to make these?

A better-than-Weight Watchers plan, in my opinion You can eat LOADS on the plan. And it works!

Hi, all! I came across this thread while searching on the title of my book. While I don't regularly chime in on these forums, I wanted to answer any questions you had.
--Waffles can generally be baked as pancakes, simply by reducing or eliminating the oil, and adding non-dairy milk/water as necessary to achieve the desired thinness. I will admit that after a lengthy process of waffle creating, testing/feedback, adjusting, etc., I shifted to pancakes on occasion for a bit of variation in our meals. (Shhh. Don't tell anyone!) I personally prefer a well-seasoned cast iron skillet oiled with a bit of vegan margarine.
--The waffles vary in terms of "healthiness," ranging from less-sweet, whole grain waffles to very decadent dessert waffles. Ingredients like kale, spinach, carrots, and hemp protein powder appear in some of the recipes. Of course, they're all zero cholesterol. As with anything, I guess it's how it fits into one's larger diet/lifestyle, and what elements you're aiming to decrease or increase.
--I recently put some more photos on both the UK and US Amazon sites, so you can see some of them. Hope that helps.
--BTW, Pusskins' cat looks a lot like our feline companion, LeMew.
--Regarding reviews, additional opinions are very welcome, either on specific recipes or the book as a whole. I'm also always excited to see others' pictures of how they doctored up their waffles, what toppings they used at their waffle parties, etc., at Vegan Waffles on Facebook.
Thanks so much for checking the book out and talking about it, and happy vegan waffling!
    -Dave W.

    Oh what an honour!

I love the option of healthier options for waffles, reading that made me place an order on amazon.ca a minute ago and I just bought the last one in stock! I hope it will get here soon! I bake a lot and am always looking to make the things I make a bit healthier (not all the time though, sometimes you just want something unhealthier), especially because I have a 3-year old who loves whatever I make.

Since I don't have a wafffle iron, I'll attempt them in the form of pancakes like you said using less oil. Depending on how that works out in the long run I might get a waffle iron one day, but we'll see.
