Default What easter egg did you get recieve?

I thought it would be nice to start a post about what Easter eggs we have given or recieved this year...

I have got a Divine Egg with Brazils from Mum and Dad and from my alter ego (Rainstorm) I have got a Moo Free Egg, Montezumas Truffle eggs, Aldi Marzipan Eggs and some mini choc eggs from pound land...

Awesome! I haven't got mine yet. My parents are away and I fell out with my boyfriend (we have since made up but he hasn't brought my egg yet!) I bought myself some of those Montezumas mini eggs a while back they are AMAZING!

I would have thought the Easter bunny would have come to every Vegans house, they're the only places the bunny is safe from hunters - I will have a word and maybe he will come next year

    Cheers, would appreciate that.

Left him out some tofu and tequila and all.

    Hopefully next year then.

I didn't leave him anything... guess that's what I get. The dogs/cats probably would have scared him away, but I don't see any chocolate droppings this year.

You people should be ashamed. Not only are Easter eggs nothing to do with the real wonder of today (which, by the way, is that it hasn't rained for four whole days) but, by buying chocolate 'eggs' you are further reinforcing the disassociation that eggs are acceptable food items and that there is no suffering attached.

...and I didn't get any either. Can you tell?

Disclaimer: the above is a joke. Just in case it gets lost on anyone.

I know your post is a joke, but seriously my sisters ex (who is a complete idiot) once told me that Easter eggs have nothing to do with rebirth, but are shaped as eggs as that was the shape of the rock that covered the entrance to Jesus' tomb.

Ha ha.. I'd have asked if Jebus' tomb was also flanked by two bars of chocolate and surrounded by gaudy packing too.

I seem to have scored 3 identical Celtic eggs from 3 different donors, not complaining mind! Am hoping my mother who claims not to like vegan chocolate will like the Moo Free one, but if not I may end up with that too

I got a dark chocolate egg filled with little chocolate rabbits, and a massive bag of "milk" chocolate individually wrapped rabbits, too! Quite a lot of chocolate for someone who can only eat a bite or two before it makes her sick, it'll last me for months!

They're the dark ones - think our local H&B may have overbought those We have broached one and it's quite good - has a faint flavour of peppermint which after a moment's bafflement I realised comes from the fact that it has some peppermints stashed in the bottom. I like the idea of the chocolate Buddhas, are they in season though?

Ratty - I made a chocolate cake that had brandy in too! We ate some on Saturday and some yesterday. It's clearly a winning idea

I had told my parents (who I went to visit for Easter) not to get me anything as everything I saw seemed ridiculously expensive for what it was, but I'm glad my mum ignored me! I got a pencil sharpener shaped like an egg, a small Divine dark egg, and a little plate in the shape of a hen. I got my dad the Montezuma mini praline eggs, mum got a papier mache fair trade box shaped like a chicken and both of them got Lindt dark chocolate bunnies which seemed to go down well. My dad is normally quite fussy about chocolate so I was pleased he liked the Montezuma's ones and the Lindt!

Oxfam are selling off their Divine Easter stuff half price. At £1.74 for 170g of the little dark chocolate eggs it's worth buying up their stuff just to cook with (chocolate prices have really gone up, haven't they? You'd never get fairtrade stuff for £1 per 100g otherwise at the moment )

    Default Easter Eggs

Thought I would give this thread a "bump" with a list of the Vegan Easter Eggs that I have found so far this year:

The large Kinnerton egg is available at both Morrisons & Asda
Celtic Chocolate "Milk" chocolate with caramels & white chocolate eggs are available at Sainsburys (Might have to search for "choices egg") & Ebay
Celtic Dark chocolate eggs are available at Waitrose, Ebay & Holland & Barrett
Celtic "Milk" chocolate eggs with coins are available at Holland & Barrett & Ebay
Divine Dark chocolate, ginger & orange egg is available at Waitrose, Animal Aid and from their own site (along with other vegan ones)
Montezumas have several Vegan eggs as do Hotel Chocolat
Thorntons have 2 eggs which appear vegan (Here & Here)
Able & Cole have several vegan options including a cocoa loco egg
ChocolateWendyHouse have eggs/creme eggs/ bunnys available from their site & Ebay (Here & Here)
Some of the Green & Blacks now appear Vegan again (Dark Thick Egg, Thick Mint Egg)
Cocoa Deli mint crunch egg is available in Poundland & 99p stores
Moo Free Eggs are available pretty much everywhere (Veganstore (along with lots of other stuff) etc) as are Booja Booja

I always have to buy myself one, I don't think easter bunny comes to our neck of the woods. :-( (more like no-one can be bothered to find me one, they just think ah vegan, doesn't eat chocolate).

for some reason nobody buys me one because i am "too old". sorry but when is anybody ever too old for chocolate. besides, i am 20. i don't need my family to make those kinds of excuses that they make to a fourteen year old to make them feel grown-up! bah.

I know this is late, but this year Easter was exactly a week before my 34th birthday, so I tried to buy myself a vegan sugar-free carob egg, the company didn't have any (but didn't tell me so my whole order was delayed), so I got some broken carob bits in a bag (too late for Easter). I ate some of them, which tasted yummy, but then remembered that I'm particularly prone to it's laxative effects.

    Happy birth-Easter-day to me.

Happy belated birthday Peabrain! For some reason I thought you were much older. I am sitting here sipping on a green smoothie with a little carob powder. I sure hope it doesn't give me a laxative effect! lol

I'm kinda glad it's that way 'round than the other. I tried to buy some children's paracetamol the other day and the woman at the checkout looked at me suspiciously, asked how old I was, and then berated me for not having an ID card. I told her I was 34, and she just thought I was fibbing, but decided to let me have it anyway as she'd decided I did at least look older than 16.

You seem very mature and knowledgeable in the way you write posts online. I can relate to looking much younger too. No one believes I am 40. Most people think I am in my twenties. When I was in my twenties and I smoked and drank, I had to have about fifty forms of ID to get anything and they still didn't believe me half the time. I was even asked once if I needed an escort when I traveled alone by airplane. I was in my twenties then but the person thought I was 10. lol. It's funny how we spend our whole childhood wishing we looked and were older, and then you reach a certain age and when people think you are so much younger suddenly its a compliment! Cheers to us!

BTW, no laxative effect on the carob, but I did only use a 1/2 tablespoon. It was delicious.
