I've just had a reply from Elizabeth Shaw about that Easter egg I bought, it said on the front of the box 'with honeycomb crisp pieces'. I've just been told that it's not actually 'honeycomb' but just sugar! hooray! I've had to look at that egg all over Easter, now it'll be gone in half an hour!
Me and my daughter have just been eating the Easter egg while watching Desperate Housewives on Sky Plus! It is absolutely gorgeous! There is only a little bit left so I've put that in the fridge for my son to try later! I think I'll go today and see if I can get another one!
It's a bit late now... but found some instructions for making a Giant creme egg! from scratch:

Looks like it could be veganised - if you can find some vegan red and yellow food colouring and liquid glucose (not sure if the super cook brand used is...)
Pure sugary heaven!

lol - I love pimp that snack. The one where they used dozens of real creme egg fillings looked *gross* and led me at the time (in the summer when I had too much time to look through LOADS of pimp that snacks!) to google for various fondant recipes. Never got round to it though so thanks for posting that. Mr Flibble used to have some glucose but alas, no more. You can get it from some health food shops though. May have to try that for next year
If that filling really is an accurate immitation that I say we just make a big batch of it to eat straight from the saucepan

You haven't been complaining of constipation lately have you? Maybe for Easter they wanted to give the gift of regularity
*chortles*
i'm now looking for fig recipes

If you have 'Vegan With A Vengeance' she has a recipe for fig not-ins which sound like fig rolls.

thought i'd bring this thread back just in case people didn't realise there are vegan easter eggs
I have a Montezuma's egg waiting for me in the kitchen!

My first vegan Easter and I think my husband (very lovely and supportive even though he is omni) has got me some Booja Booja stuff. Can't wait to try it!!
i don't have any eggs. which day are you suppose to eat them?
I've seen Green and Blacks have easter eggs for about £3 - the Maya Gold and the 70% dark chocolate should be vegan. So I'll treat myself on Saturday, I think. Not as nice as some booja booja champagne truffles.
You're supposed to eat them on Easter Sunday, first thing.
My son's insisting on a creme-egg-alike. I've got to practice making fondant. We've got some egg moulds and some sainsbury's dairy-free "soya" chocolate.
booja booja is amazing!! their hazelnut crunch truffles, omg they r soo good, better than any non vegan truffles ive ever had!
My son usually buys me a Green & Blacks egg. Hotel Chocolat have a vegan egg this year - looks delicious but it's £20. Ouch.
I had a small vegan cream egg form the vegan shop in Brum and Waitrose had the Kinnerton vegan eggs with vegan jelly sweets in at £1 yesterday winnie the pooh and Simpsons all reduced, also a big kinnerton vegan egg at £5.
Thorntons dark choc eggs are £2.99 with the 'may contain milk traces' bit on the back as they are made on the same line as the milk ones.
My GF hinted at a Green & Blacks egg in the supermarket but as a treat I've bought her a real chickens egg instead.
instead of eggs i bought myself a selection of raw choc bars from the rawchocolateshop online - which i've started already!
I've been in two minds about the Tesco Finest plain choc egg with the freeze dried red berries in it. It looks so beautiful, and the ingredients look vegan, but it doesn't even say "suitable for vegetarians" on the box. I've bought my oh a stack of G&B bars as a back up, but I'd love to buy the fruity egg. Anyone know if it's vegan?
I've already eaten most of my Green & Black's egg - still got the Cherry and Almond bars that came with it though...well done me!
Scoffed my Lindt mini eggs last week....
Well - if I am given them early..... My name is Holly and I am a chocoholic.

^ a real easter bunny?
We only seem to have the all chocolate eggs over here and they get very boring!
I miss the Easter Eggs with the little chocolates inside...........I don't see why they can't make vegan ones.........or if they do I've never seen one.

I got a ring instead of an egg for easter, the one I had been wanting for aaaaaaaaages, very happy bunny ! (and I get to eat most of the chocolate I gave him )
Wow, Scarlett, that's good going!
My Montezuma's egg is lovely. Thick choc on the egg (which is/was huge!) and the mini truffles are very yummy!!
Alison, you are going to get very fat!!!

i got given a g&b 70% egg. yuck, it's so bitter! i made it into rice krispy cakes in the hope that it would taste better that way, but no, it still tastes awful...
I didn't get any Easter eggs..........
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
nor did i, sandra, but i ate half of my son's G&B one, and half his whizzers mini eggs!
Those little mini eggs are lovely aren't they Cobweb?
That is so frustrating Cedarblue.........but I did laugh at the term 'batty in-laws'

Yes I shall have to ration my choc as aunt and uncle have brought me a wonderful cocoa pod egg from hotel choc aswell as my others!
http://www.hotelchocolat.co.uk/Dark-...-Eggs-P450070/
With dark choc i can only eat a little in one go so this lot will keep me going to christmas will be taking some to work to share and can use some in cooking for family as i wont manage it all.
you have a really thoughtful and supportive family alisont!
Aww thanks, they really do spend time finding the vegan options for me which is really nice!
OMG I just got my CASE of Whizzers Speckled eggs in the mail today! I heard about them years ago and thought they were only available in the UK. Well a few weeks ago someone brought a case of Cadbury mini-eggs to work to sell to raise money for breast cancer. I used to love mini-eggs (oh, that crunchy coating!!!) and I was mighty tempted by them staring at me in the office every day! So I went online and looked at veganstore.com for Whizzers eggs, and they had some for $2.39 a pack! I ordered 12 and it only cost $9 to ship from Maryland! And they are SO good, they totally satisfied my craving for Cadbury mini-eggs
I should have ordered more though, I'm going to go through these before the weekend is over

How bloody annoying the shops are this year. We went to Sainsbury's last night to get all the eggs for the family etc. This year Kinnerton are doing a great range of Milk Chocolate eggs which, last year, was vegan. There was one egg we could have and that was a silly price.
I don't personally like Easter or celebrate it (side issue but Christians must take offence at the chocolate celebration of this time of year, As Bill Hicks said ''i don't remember a chocolate f***ing bunny in the bible'') I have never felt comfortable giving/ receiving eggs, but have sent them to the kids etc in the family. We always try to get vegan stuff as gifts but are finding it hard to do so this year. I know there are lots of vegan eggs about but i do not wish to have to pay a lot of money for something I don't like doing and we are quite skint really.
Oh well yet another moan and another company stepping away from vegany goodness.
i noticed that Kinnerton have gone for milk chocolate this year as well, it is a shame but i guess the dark chocolate ones weren't that popular. they are aimed at kids and i would imagine kids generally prefer milk chocolate (although i always liked dark chocolate when i was a kid).
i've seen Lindt dark chocolate bunnies in Sainsburys which seem to be vegan, someone mentioned them as being vegan in another thread on here, i'll probably email them as well to make sure.
