I've just had a reply from Elizabeth Shaw about that Easter egg I bought, it said on the front of the box 'with honeycomb crisp pieces'. I've just been told that it's not actually 'honeycomb' but just sugar! hooray! I've had to look at that egg all over Easter, now it'll be gone in half an hour!

Me and my daughter have just been eating the Easter egg while watching Desperate Housewives on Sky Plus! It is absolutely gorgeous! There is only a little bit left so I've put that in the fridge for my son to try later! I think I'll go today and see if I can get another one!

It's a bit late now... but found some instructions for making a Giant creme egg! from scratch:
    http://www.pimpthatsnack.com/project.php?projectID=302
Looks like it could be veganised - if you can find some vegan red and yellow food colouring and liquid glucose (not sure if the super cook brand used is...)
    Pure sugary heaven!

lol - I love pimp that snack. The one where they used dozens of real creme egg fillings looked *gross* and led me at the time (in the summer when I had too much time to look through LOADS of pimp that snacks!) to google for various fondant recipes. Never got round to it though so thanks for posting that. Mr Flibble used to have some glucose but alas, no more. You can get it from some health food shops though. May have to try that for next year

I've seen Green and Blacks have easter eggs for about £3 - the Maya Gold and the 70% dark chocolate should be vegan. So I'll treat myself on Saturday, I think. Not as nice as some booja booja champagne truffles.

You're supposed to eat them on Easter Sunday, first thing.

My son's insisting on a creme-egg-alike. I've got to practice making fondant. We've got some egg moulds and some sainsbury's dairy-free "soya" chocolate.

I had a small vegan cream egg form the vegan shop in Brum and Waitrose had the Kinnerton vegan eggs with vegan jelly sweets in at £1 yesterday winnie the pooh and Simpsons all reduced, also a big kinnerton vegan egg at £5.

Thorntons dark choc eggs are £2.99 with the 'may contain milk traces' bit on the back as they are made on the same line as the milk ones.

I've been in two minds about the Tesco Finest plain choc egg with the freeze dried red berries in it. It looks so beautiful, and the ingredients look vegan, but it doesn't even say "suitable for vegetarians" on the box. I've bought my oh a stack of G&B bars as a back up, but I'd love to buy the fruity egg. Anyone know if it's vegan?

OMG I just got my CASE of Whizzers Speckled eggs in the mail today! I heard about them years ago and thought they were only available in the UK. Well a few weeks ago someone brought a case of Cadbury mini-eggs to work to sell to raise money for breast cancer. I used to love mini-eggs (oh, that crunchy coating!!!) and I was mighty tempted by them staring at me in the office every day! So I went online and looked at veganstore.com for Whizzers eggs, and they had some for $2.39 a pack! I ordered 12 and it only cost $9 to ship from Maryland! And they are SO good, they totally satisfied my craving for Cadbury mini-eggs

I should have ordered more though, I'm going to go through these before the weekend is over

How bloody annoying the shops are this year. We went to Sainsbury's last night to get all the eggs for the family etc. This year Kinnerton are doing a great range of Milk Chocolate eggs which, last year, was vegan. There was one egg we could have and that was a silly price.
I don't personally like Easter or celebrate it (side issue but Christians must take offence at the chocolate celebration of this time of year, As Bill Hicks said ''i don't remember a chocolate f***ing bunny in the bible'') I have never felt comfortable giving/ receiving eggs, but have sent them to the kids etc in the family. We always try to get vegan stuff as gifts but are finding it hard to do so this year. I know there are lots of vegan eggs about but i do not wish to have to pay a lot of money for something I don't like doing and we are quite skint really.

Oh well yet another moan and another company stepping away from vegany goodness.

i noticed that Kinnerton have gone for milk chocolate this year as well, it is a shame but i guess the dark chocolate ones weren't that popular. they are aimed at kids and i would imagine kids generally prefer milk chocolate (although i always liked dark chocolate when i was a kid).

i've seen Lindt dark chocolate bunnies in Sainsburys which seem to be vegan, someone mentioned them as being vegan in another thread on here, i'll probably email them as well to make sure.
