Todays empires, tomorrows ashes...
Everyone's food looks great
Roasted veg tart with Zest pesto and blue Cheezly.
That veg tart looks great Blueberries, it makes me want to do a veg pizza. Is the blue cheezly strong tasting?
I used to like blue cheese.
oops sorry, only just saw your questions.
here is the recipe:
http://www.cashewcatering.co.uk/vege...ummerBerry.pdf for this
Thanks Leela . I have no idea if the blue cheezly tastes like animal-based blue cheese but I like it, it's not too strong and is slightly sweeter than the cheddar.leela
Houmous atá ann!
I made my own thai invention: egg-free udon noodles, coconut milk, peanut and chili paste, curry, cashew nuts and mixed veggies. It was so damn creamy and delicious!
anddd.. for dinner, banana and chocolate chip pancakes! first time I ever made them vegan and they were SO amazing. Even better than the ones with eggs and milk in it. My best friend even told me so, she said she didn't know we vegans ate yummy stuff!
The noodles aren't much to look at, but from the description I bet they tasted amazing. And the pancakes look as good as they sound! Silly friend for thinking that vegans didn't eat well - bet she won't make that mistake again!
mmmm that raw pie looks so yummy, jackie!
Yummy looking pancakes Lorena.
Leftover roast potato sandwich with rocket, watercress and Isa's pesto
Mung bean dahl, mango chutney, salad, rice.
Coconut custard and raspberry trifle. Tasted better than it looks
Whole wheat pizza dough topped with tomato and oregano.
Then diced red onion, chopped Redwoods pepperoni, griddled courgette, mozzarella cheezly and olives.
Had a bite then remembered to take pic.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I love pizza!
Me too! The pizza looks really nice. I've never actually had courgette on a pizza - good?
I often put courgettes on my pizzas - and yes, good!
God, please may someone just delivery some slices to me.......here as I sit? Now!
Made my stomach go 'Grrrrr'.
Oh wow, vegan pizza delivered fresh to your door. Now there's a thought. Who's offering? Anyone?
Well rainbow, you could always get dairy free pizza delivered then add your own cheeze?
The courgette was very good. I griddled slices dipped in olive oil with salt first in my sandwich toaster (tesco foreman style grill)
This was to get rid of all the water that comes out of it when cooking, and to give it a nice chargrill flavour.

You guys have some awesome food pics! I have enjoyed looking through them (especially the raw fruit pie thingy). Thought I would add a few of mine to share too I have taken over the last year:

Sorry I think I went overboard. I am just so excited to share! I have done more food experimenting in the last year as a vegan than I did in my entire life before! My cooking, baking, food preparation, and appreciation for good whole food has increased exponentially. I am still looking forward to so much more too!
'Cornish' Pasty

Wow Barry, that Cornish pasty looks good, is it home made?
Shop bought short-crust pastry, but I did the rest myself I swear!
It was really nice, and tasted surprisingly like a real cornish pasty, but next time I'm going to put in way more filling. I was a bit tentative this time cause I didn't want the pastry to burst when it cooked..
Awesome!
Yum, I love pies and pasties. Might have to give that a go.
Tofu and courgette with soy sauce and 5 spice. Served this with white rice.
Shop bought puff pastry, tomatoes, redwoods pepperoni, smoked cheddar sheese, olives and salad.
Jam tarts with home made bramble jelly and shortcrust pastry. My daughter and I burnt our mouths on these cause they take ages to cool
That pastry looks YUM!
Chocolate Chip cookies, recipe from Vegan With a Vengeance.
Dear jam tarts, get in my belly now please. Those cookies look gawjus too.
Bakewell tart with jam on the side, cos I forgot to put it in!
Doh!!
Hopefully still tasted as good.
^ yeah, it tasted good
Homemade pesto (Isa's bestest) I'm addicted to this stuff at the moment
Sandwich with fried slices of Redwoods pepperoni (another addiction), tomatoes and pesto
Shepherdess pie made of chopped LC sausages and mushrooms in herby tomato sauce with mashed swede and potato topping
Not pretty but tasted good
Plated with steamed broccoli
I want all of the above, in large doses.
All of your food looks amazing, Leela! Just looking at your shepherds' pie, I made one the other day and mine had little bits of sauce peeking over the top too! It almost makes the pie look mischievous!
Delicious plate of food at Govindas. Mine is actually the half empty plate in the background
Love Govindas, cheap, hearty food in massive portions!
That Govindas food looks so nice crazypolly.
Is it the Soho St one (I used to go there sometimes) or is there one in Ireland?

Thanks leela! The tapioca pudding was good but it didnt taste quite the same as the tapioca I was used to years ago. I used coconut milk to make it which may have contributed to it tasting different but it was still excellent! Most tapioca pudding recipes call for eggs but this can be worked around.
I cant remember the exact way I made the chocolate ganache but I believe I simply used dark chocolate (broke up a few 100% cacoa bars) heated on a double boiler with almond milk, vanilla extract, a little brewed coffee, and maple syrup. Some recipes call for margarine but I didnt use any. I like to take a few recipes for the same thing that are slightly different and mix and match them to make it work. The ganache dried very smoothly over my cake (I simply poured it over the cake and then used a rubber spatula to spread it around evenly) and was wonderful!
Thanks Robinwomb, that doesn't sound too difficult. I shall try it the next time I make a chocolate cake
Some raw fudge! Sooo good!
Sweet and savoury lentil salad with broccoli and red bell pepper
Red wine beet soup with raw rye crackers! YUM!
The most fantabulous salad ever invented! (if I dare say so myself )
sigen92 those salads look wonderful! The soup looks interesting too. I love raw beets!
Yes, they were really really good! Especially the last one! Lucky for me that I was alone when eating it, I sounded like a complete nut-case, 'mm'-ing and 'aah'-ing the entire time!
Everyone's food looks so delicious! My kind of eating
It was St David's Day yesterday in Wales so thought I'd make some Welsh Cakes to celebrate
They look brilliant!
