Thanks! If you loved them then you should make them, I don't know if you bake much but they're so easy to make. I veganised the recipe off the BBC food website, you just make mini sponge bases and cover them in orange jelly and melted chocolate.

I have no idea as I am not sure what a slush puppie is. The "frosty" was drinkable but quite thick, and it was very cold going down. I could have eaten it with a spoon but I sure enjoyed sipping it.

Firestorm, how did you make those omelettes? They look really good.

Tomato and aubergine puff pastry tarts with herbs:

Banana, apple and walnut bread. Didn't turn out great, to be honest - does anybody have a nice vegan banana bread recipe?

It was my last day at work today and the chef, who is amazing, made me a vegan tiramisu cake to take home! She even made vegan Baileys (Irish cream, whatever) to use in it.

That vegan tiramisu is one of the best-looking things I have ever seen! Wow! Wish someone would make one for me!
What was the vegan cream? I'm still using my dwindling stash of cremovita, but as they don't seem to be making it any more, I'd love to know what else works. I always found the soyatoo spray cream to be a bit rubbish - is the carton version any better?

I don't know what it was, rainbow! I'll ask her when I next see her. I don't really use cream much but the Oatly oat cream was a big hit with my meat-and-dairy-eating family. My brother even prefers it to dairy cream. You should try it if you haven't yet.

The loaves look yum! Oatly is a good pouring cream, but I was thinking of a whipping cream, which is what appeared to be the one used in the tiramisu (or maybe it was just icing?). Tibits also make a daily vegan mousse that is whipped, and I've always wondered how they do it. It tastes more of soya than coconut (in a good way, obviously - it's fantastic!), but just wondered if anyone knew what else could be whipped for a thick, rich topping?

I've done that and it tasted too coconutty unless you're specifically going for coconut cream. It was nice with a brownie, though!

No, rainbow, it wasn't icing; it was cream, and you're right, it was more whipped than the oat stuff. I'll try to find out this week.

Is that sauce homemade? If so do you have the recipe?
I have hoards of fresh tomatoes from my garden and would like to make a sauce tonight to go with spaghetti but I don't want to waste a ton of tomatoes on something that's going to bomb. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I have been researching fresh tomato sauce recipes and they seem so time consuming. BTW your dish looks very nice.

Nom! If you have fresh tomatoes, roasting them before using them in a sauce is a good way to make the most of them - it certainly adds flavour. Here is Delia's recipe: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/m...ato-salad.html
I think she also has a very similar recipe for a sauce, so I think you could use the one I've posted here and then whizz up some tomato magic for pasta!

    Enjoy!

Today was my Mom's birthday so I made her a cashew cream tart, almost all raw except I used maple syrup in making the cashew cream. The mint leaves are from my garden.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

This is cashew "cheese" that I made some time ago just to experiment. I used agar flakes which I had in my cupboard forever.

It tasted wonderful! It didn't taste like real cheese but it tasted really good in its own way. It does have the texture of cheese, slices very nicely, and goes well in sandwiches or with crackers. It keeps for at least a week, and absorbs spices nicely. I did not try to melt it though. I am thinking of making this again for the holiday season this winter with homemade crackers.
