The jaffa cake looks great! I used to love them...

A couple of things from the last week or two:
Vegg Mushroom Omelette things with salad:
Salad, Mini Ritz, Wheaty Chorizo, Tesco Soya Cream Cheese, Pickles, Peanut Butter & Jam Sandwich, 1/2 Larabar, 1/2 Choc Chip Cereal Bar & Large Tea
Taifun Tofritto, Cabbage & Ketchup, Potatoes:
Chocolate Banana Bread with Vegan White Chocolate Spread:
Thanks! If you loved them then you should make them, I don't know if you bake much but they're so easy to make. I veganised the recipe off the BBC food website, you just make mini sponge bases and cover them in orange jelly and melted chocolate.Barry
Houmous atá ann!
Ahhh, ok. The Saino's one's are notorious for causing said reaction amongst friends.
Or I just have friends with dodgy digestive systems - also a possibility.
Let the music mend our minds. Let the music bend our minds.
Firestorm, how did you make those omelettes? They look really good.
Tomato and aubergine puff pastry tarts with herbs:
Banana, apple and walnut bread. Didn't turn out great, to be honest - does anybody have a nice vegan banana bread recipe?
It was my last day at work today and the chef, who is amazing, made me a vegan tiramisu cake to take home! She even made vegan Baileys (Irish cream, whatever) to use in it.
Did you notice the positions of the gherkin and cherry tomatoes?
Lollercoaster!
Let the music mend our minds. Let the music bend our minds.
hahahah!

Vine leaves stuffed with minty mixed green beans. Could look better I admit but tastes good.

That vegan tiramisu is one of the best-looking things I have ever seen! Wow! Wish someone would make one for me!
What was the vegan cream? I'm still using my dwindling stash of cremovita, but as they don't seem to be making it any more, I'd love to know what else works. I always found the soyatoo spray cream to be a bit rubbish - is the carton version any better?
Live and let live
I don't know what it was, rainbow! I'll ask her when I next see her. I don't really use cream much but the Oatly oat cream was a big hit with my meat-and-dairy-eating family. My brother even prefers it to dairy cream. You should try it if you haven't yet.

Those vine leaves look bloody good even if you don't think so.
Chocolate mini-loaves with chocolate orange buttercream icing:
The loaves look yum! Oatly is a good pouring cream, but I was thinking of a whipping cream, which is what appeared to be the one used in the tiramisu (or maybe it was just icing?). Tibits also make a daily vegan mousse that is whipped, and I've always wondered how they do it. It tastes more of soya than coconut (in a good way, obviously - it's fantastic!), but just wondered if anyone knew what else could be whipped for a thick, rich topping?

I haven't tried it myself but I hve seen recipes online for whipping cream make from coconut milk. I can't remember where I saw it but I'm sure if you google it you should find it.rainbow

Live and let live
This is what i made just the other day!
Spag B and meatballs! well kidney bean meatballs :3
Is that sauce homemade? If so do you have the recipe?
I have hoards of fresh tomatoes from my garden and would like to make a sauce tonight to go with spaghetti but I don't want to waste a ton of tomatoes on something that's going to bomb. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I have been researching fresh tomato sauce recipes and they seem so time consuming. BTW your dish looks very nice.
Nom! If you have fresh tomatoes, roasting them before using them in a sauce is a good way to make the most of them - it certainly adds flavour. Here is Delia's recipe: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/m...ato-salad.html
I think she also has a very similar recipe for a sauce, so I think you could use the one I've posted here and then whizz up some tomato magic for pasta!
Enjoy!
Leftovers dinner
Taco bowls filled with leftover taco mix (TVP, kidney beans, tomato puree, spices (cumin, coriander etc.). Topped with a small amount of leftover curry, home made salsa, little gem lettuce, chopped tomatoes and grated sheese. Oh and a jalapeno chilli slice.

Both Barry & Risker's food looks very impressive and more importantly delicious!
Today was my Mom's birthday so I made her a cashew cream tart, almost all raw except I used maple syrup in making the cashew cream. The mint leaves are from my garden.

This is cashew "cheese" that I made some time ago just to experiment. I used agar flakes which I had in my cupboard forever.

Thanks for the recipe! I ended up making something else, but I will save this for future reference!
Thanks Firestorm!
Robinwomb - The cashew cheese looks great. How did it taste?
Todays empires, tomorrows ashes...
It tasted wonderful! It didn't taste like real cheese but it tasted really good in its own way. It does have the texture of cheese, slices very nicely, and goes well in sandwiches or with crackers. It keeps for at least a week, and absorbs spices nicely. I did not try to melt it though. I am thinking of making this again for the holiday season this winter with homemade crackers.
ASDA Vegetarian Nut & Date Roast with Gravy (very nice BTW), steamed green beans & brussel sprouts, roasted potatoes (with fresh rosemary that I stole from the police stations front garden). Served with mint sauce, English mustard and Horseradish.
