Its a British thing, but it has to be baked beans from a tin (its the staple diet of Vegans, students, those in a rush and basically everyone who doesn't have time to cook - and it tastes fantastic) ;https://www.google.co.uk/search?rlz=...L8q38gO1w6mWDg

^ Its a very British thing, that also happens to be a great vegan snack/lunch/dinner.
Just realised Firestorm has answered this question, doh!
A British thing. Eating baked beans on toast is very widespread over here.
Thanks everyone! It was my first time making them and I'm not sure if I made them right, but they were well tasty!
The tomato sauce was Old El Paso fajita sauce, and the cheese sauce I made with Redwoods soya-free cheddar, Kara coconut milk, nutritional yeast and flour heated together in a pot.
Put some fajita sauce in the bottom of an oven dish, put some sautéed veg on in tortillas (I only made two), roll it up, put in the dish, cover it the fajita and cheese sauces and bake in the oven at 200c for 25-30 mins.
@Robinwomb- baked beans on toast are popular in Ireland too, not just in Britain
Thanks Blueberries, I'll be giving this a go.

Wow, those baked beans on toast photos are making me very very hungry! Very occasionally I will eat vegetarian canned baked beans on toast. Mostly I have been eating black beans with spices and tomatoes on toast or a white bean or chickpea spread on toast. I absolutely love the whole concept. Very filling and has staying power.
All that talk of beans on toast yesterday... with chive flavour sheese
Hot choc sauce on warm choc cake, with strawberries and a little bit of soyatoo (couldn't get it to squirt for some reason)
Looks excellent leela!

Pasta with yoghurt & mustard dressing, red onion, peas, carrots, soya chikin, cherry tomatoes, sheese & homemade bacn bits:
Home made Tofurky:
How did you make that last one, Firestorm?
Its home made seitan, I rolled it out, added the stuffing in the middle, wrapped the sides around it, wrapped it in foil and baked for 45 mins.
*Droool......*
Home made tofurkey, potatoes, veg & gravy:
Heres some pics of the 'extra nice' dins over the last few weeks

And a gorgeous curry i made with raita and popadoms:
Wow, that pizza looks so good.
Baked potato, baked beans, spinach and vegan cream cheese. Simple but yummy.
Sausage and bean stew (Baked beans, chopped toms, tomato puree, herbs, lentils and chopped cooked Linda McCartney's added in at the end)
Kale Colcannon (Mashed potato, Vilalite, splash of soya milk, couple of tablespoons of nutritional yeast, fried onions and a pack of wilted kale)
It's become a firm favourite with my 4yo...when she isn't eating with us I make it with smoked paprika instead and it tastes spookily like chorizo sausage stew.
Sorry for the bad quality photo's,
Wrap, salad, Redwood smoked salmon style slices, Roasted red pepper houmous:
Chickpea Salad (Chickpeas, tomatoes, lettuce, pepper, onion, cucumber, carrot), Tempeh bacon tomato rice with kale, big bowl of veg (sprouts, kale, carrots & broccoli) & gravy:
Ah, that all looks healthy and delicious Firestorm
And peanutbutter's sausage stew
And LouiseAbel's spud, beans and cream cheese (gotta try that)
And all of Purepsycho's yummy dinners
I've had dinner, but now I feel hungry again...
Breakfast Nachos:
Poutine:
haha, I'm trying to be healthy... mostly just not overeating, but I wish I had the willpower to eat healthier!
These were both from an area restaurant called The Owl House. We love it!
The nachos were covered with tofu scramble, stewed black beans, guacamole, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, salsa verde, smoked tofu and Daiya...
Poutine is a Canadian thing. It's fries (chips) covered in vegan cheese and veggie gravy. It was so good that we recreated it today (although a healthier version w some sweet potato fries and tofu cubes).
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnn - what I would give for those two dishes to somehow magic up in front of me right now!
Roasted purple carrots, tofu, and butternut squash over brown rice
What did you season it with Dermosthenes? I've been craving some veg over rice but I'll need something really yummy as my wife - who grew up with an Indian stepfather and therefore a LOT of rice - gets sick at the sight of rice!
Goulash, broccoli, sprouts, kale, potatoes, pickled onions & beetroot:
That plate of food is right up my alley, firestorm.
@Firestorm; whoa, how did you make that goulash?
Nothing tastes as good as compassion feels.
It's a recipe from a cookbook called Another Dinner is Possible. Its going to become one of my favourites.
Everyone's food looks great
Houmous atá ann!
Tomato and cheese pasta bake. The cheese was Tesco mild cheese, I think I overdid it on the cheese but then again that's impossible!

I made the kale curry a few days ago, all the others I made some time ago. Interestingly, with the crumpets, I had a heck of a time finding crumpet rings. Even the specialty baking store in my city did not carry them but after mentioning to them the trouble I was having finding them they ordered some! Yeah! I didnt want to order online for something that isn't that expensive. Crumpets are not common in the U.S. but English muffins are. Crumpets however are much easier to veganize than english muffins.
Purple sprouting broccoli with chilli oil and toasted sesame seeds.
Stuffed mushrooms (mushroom, breadcrumb, parsley, spinach, garlic).
Mashed potato with a tomato and basil coulis.
Fine green beans and garlic.

^ yum, that looks like a restaurant meal Risker
I'm liking the look of that sweet potato curry, Robin
That looks so good, Risker. I love everything on that plate.
Roasted Broccotato Soup with Bacon-Flavored Chickpeas:
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Should never look at this thread when hungry. I could devour everything on the screen and then some!

Shepherd's pie with lentils, soya mince and veg, and a mashed potato, sweet potato and chive topping:

^ Wow, looks really yummy!

Oh thank you.
I havent tried Shepherds pie yet but that photo is awfully convincing.
Last Saturday I was on a roll and in the mood to cook. So I made a few out of the ordinary dishes:
Homemade Energy Bars with White Beans My husband has been happily munching away on these
and he has no idea that these are made with Great Northern White beans in them. They work great as a binder and absorb the flavors of the spices and agave well. Also included are dates, pecans, almonds, oats, agave, raisins and coconut.

Tofu Butternut Ricotta Stuffed Manicotti [/IMG] I got this recipe from Vegweb (they used shells to stuff instead of manicotti). There is no vegan cheese whatsoever, not even nutritional yeast,
and you would never know it. The butternut squash and firm tofu combined with spices and lemon juice adds a rich texture and flavor all by itself and the marinara sauce was a great addition. Awesome dish!
