^I second that! I haven't had a croissant in eons.
They were the ones from Jusrol. I didn't expect them to be that good but they turned out excellent
I never considered making them savoury - will have to give that a try, I was thinking about stuffing them with White Chocolate Peanut Butter
stir fry with water chestnuts, bok choy, pepper, cauliflower and udon noodles (first time trying them!)
Also, a sprinkling of sesame seeds and dulse.
Mmmmm sesame seeds. That stir fry looks super yummy!
^I do too, I love earth tones
Today I made a curry from a random pinterest recipe that I modified. It was basically onion, garlic, vegetables, chickpeas, coconut milk, curry powder, tumeric, coriander, chia seeds (instead of cornstarch) and veg broth. Of course, I wanted it super spicy, so cayenne and extra hot curry powder were added. It was delicious!
Moar curry!
Potato, sweet potato, cauliflower, chickpea, spinach and tomato curry with basmati rice and home fried poppadoms.

What's a poppadom? Sounds interesting!
They're a kind of indian cracker bread made from lentil flour. I haven't had poppadoms in ages actually, must buy some

Poppadoms are awesome.
Over here in Blighty we now consider them our own (well, on a Friday night anyway - with a hot curry and several cold lagers!).
If you can't get them at your local supermarket, you'll have no problem getting them from an ethnic (Indian/Pakistani) store.

It strikes me that the next time someone says to me "oh, but what DO you eat?" I'll give them a link to here so they can see it's not all lentil burgers and salad!
Out of curiosity - since going vegan, have you found that the you are actually eating a much wider variety of food now?
I remember when I ate meat that I'd have the same meals on the same days. Friday was always fish, Sunday was always chicken etc.
Now I'm eating a much wider variety of food and eat stuff that I wouldn't have touched before.
Lentil Dahl, hummus, falafel etc - who'd know that they would be among my favourite foods - as I would never have touched that "hippy" food 15 years ago. Now, I'm hooked on it!

Ok, not sure why that double posted.
^yes, I had a very boring omni diet. I thought it was varied at the time.. .But looking back, grabbing frozen pizzas isn't very innovative.
Glad I went vegan because my diet is never boring, and I learned that I LOVE to cook!
Thanks guys - now I'm desperate for a curry! (and a cold pint...)

My first try at posting a picture here...
Three-bean chilli with quinoa pilaf and stir-fried pak choi.
"Eventually, I realised that the reason I was so angry was because I want people in the world to be well." - Ian MacKaye
Well, myself, I was vegetarian first (tried veganism but just about everything I at had eggs in it as some level) and living with my mum, so I actually had to learn how to cook.
Going vegetarian (and then "fully" committing after getting used to an ovo lacto diet) was the best thing I ever did - otherwise I'd still be ordering take out and relying on frozen beef burgers.
Would I have tried quinoa? Ha ha ha! Yeah right hippies!
Would I have discovered chick peas and their myriad of uses? HA HA HA! RIGHT!
I'd still be stuck on baked beans, egg sarnies and beef burgers. A heart attack on a plate.
I have actually found that when asked "well what do you eat?" and I roll out the stuff that I do eat, which is extremely varied, and then ask "well, what do you eat aside from fish and chips, chicken, beef burgers, meat pies, pizza and chips?" I usually get an "ummmm......?"
Funny thing is that it's US who are supposed to have the limited diet....
^ I agree! I'm usually taken aback when they ask me what I eat. Where do I even begin!?! lol
Everything they eat, minus the meat and dairy, plus all sorts of healthy things I never even knew about before.. Everything from hemp hearts to chia seeds, kale and nutritional yeast!
greek salad with tofu 'feta' (turned out sooo divine) and tofu fishsticks with homemade tartar sauce.
Roasted brussel sprouts, potatoes and parsnips. Steamed green beans, peas, home made nut roast and french mustard. Also had gravy.

Looking good, Risker and Astrid!
Astrid, how did you bread your fish fingers so perfectly? I am awful at breading things!

Wow!! where can you find croissants? When l go to Seville l buy them here: (the site is worth to see)
http://veganitessen.blogspot.co.uk/
But l don't know in Exeter... Do you buy them in a supermarket?
I blend the breadcrumbs in a food processor until they are fine.
Coat the tofu slices well in flour... Then dip in a mixture of milk, lemon juice, and soy sauce.. then dip in the breadcrumb-dulse-lemon pepper mixture.
This is the recipe I use:http://vegetarian.about.com/od/tofur...fishsticks.htm
Thank you Firestorm! You've made of me a very happy person
