Firestorm That cake looks so good, I will have to make it.
And just saw your pic of the chickpea gravy, I am so addicted to that, though I do add some yeast extract to it.
Can you tell me how to upload photos? Do I have to drop them into something like Flickr first?

Yup, I use photobucket, then take the direct link to the picture, click the Insert Image option and paste it into there.

Some people seem to be quite insensitive around other people's birthdays, like those birthday cards that say '1 year closer to death'. Age is just a number, I don't see why so much importance is attatched to it.

Another try at adding a photo. Okay, when I try to insert from Flickr or my Twitpics all I get is a little blue box with a question mark in it, so it doesn't seem to work.
    The images are .jpgs.
But I can give you a link to my sparkled cookies, this is my Flickr Sparkled Ginger cookies photo

Hi Micmini! To insert an image you have to first of all upload it to an online hosting site like photobucket or flickr. Then you copy the image url, (it should start with IMG). When you are writing a post on the right hand corner of the top bar there are option buttons for.inserting links. Go to the 'insert image' button and paste your url link. Then your photo should appear . It might be a bit of a given but make sure you are using the full version of the site. I access the site most of the time using the forum runner app but I use the web version to post photos.

Here I try again with photos, this time from photobucket - Sparkled gingers!
[IMG][/IMG]Yay, it worked from photobucket. Maybe I need to pick up the correct copy bit from flickr (though I loathe the new layout).
Now I know what I'm doing I can try other photos.
Thanks Blueberries for the tip about starting with IMG, think it was that.

It was "In a pickle chickpea salad" from the Peta College Vegan Cookbook (Chickpeas, celery, nutritional yeast, onion powder, onion relish & mayo).
I would be very interested in that mock Tuna recipe!
Firestorm - this is the recipe I use, it's from the sexy vegan cookbook.
    http://books.google.ca/books?id=hZf2...okbook&f=false

It's actually for a tuna melt but I just like to eat it on crackers.

I have the book and made the melt a few weeks ago! - its my favourite "tuna" style recipe and the yard stick by which I judge other similar recipes.

Victoria sandwich - well eaten, but I've only had a little bit of it (honest). It's the best sponge I've made yet, from Ms Cupcake's book.

And my jaffa cakes, which don't look too good as the chocolate slipped off the marmalade, but they taste good (and that's the important bit!)

In the UK we have a tendency to mix/mash carrots & swede together - not entirely sure why but I just go with the flow. (we also mixed salt, pepper and vegan butter in). The seitan is homemade, I can't stand shop bought seitan its too chewy

Thanks Blueberries. Turnips! That's what they are called here! I've never ingested one. haha! I don't know, therefore, if they are vile or not. :P

I wonder what seitan is like. Way different then tempeh or? I've had store bought tempeh and it was very awful. Ugh.

I want to make a roast now! With baked potatoes, sweet potatoes (yams?) and tofu and cran-an-berry sauce.

I hated Tempeh at first too Astrid, but now I absolutely love it. It makes deadly 'bacon' if you slice it thinly, marinade it in soy sauce, smoked paprika/liquid smoke and then fry til it's crispy.

Yeah I have to say, I love tempeh too! The trick it to steam it for about 10 minutes to get some of the bitterness out. Then it absorbs more marinade too. I like to put cubes of it in curry

Seitan is a bit more meaty than tofu/tempeh & easy to make at home, a lot of premade fake meats are made of it.
I agree the first taste of Tempeh strange, but giving it a whirl and suddenly you start liking it. I prefer it to tofu/tempeh but alas its the most difficult of the 3 IMO to buy

I always have to stop what I am doing. Venture to the kitchen. I never have anything remotely similar to newly induced cravings to hand, so either have to settle for something far superior or think of actually cooking / baking. Etc.

    PITA!
