    Default ASK Restaurants

Although we do not actually have a vegan pizza on the menu, it is possible
to create your own from the ingredients we do have in our kitchens and all
our pizza are made to order and can be ordered without the items that
render it unsuitable i.e. cheese etc.

Our pizza bases are completely free of animal and dairy products and are
100% suitable for vegans, as is the pizza sauce. Unfortunately we don't
have a vegan cheese in the business but you can leave the cheese off any
    pizza of your choice.

If you fancy creating your own vegan pizza - use the tips above and then
choose toppings from a selection of vegetables that are available.

Always explain to the waiting staff and/or manager on duty of your dietary
requirements and discuss any questions you have with them. We provide all
restaurants with an ingredient breakdown and their suitability and they
will be able to assist you as to your best options.

We are able to tailor other dishes to suit your requirements and again I
would advise that you speak to a member of staff regarding this.

    That's good, thanks Risker.

I have been to them a few times and had nice apparently-vegan pizzas, but not recently, so it's good to know the bases etc are still OK.

I've been to Ask a few times up here and they're always happy to bring out the allergen list so I can see what is vegan and what is not.

For info - went to 'Ask' last night and the menu has changed so the only vegan items they have are marinated olives and bruschetta.

    Was a really short meal . . . avoid

    March 2012 List

Although we do not actually have a vegan pizza on the menu, it is possible
to create your own from the ingredients we do have in our kitchens and all
our pizza are made to order and I can confirm can be ordered without the
items that render it unsuitable i.e. cheese etc.

Our pizza bases are completely free of animal and dairy products and are
100% suitable for vegans, as is the pizza sauce. Unfortunately we do not

If you fancy creating your own vegan pizza - use the tips above and then
choose toppings from a selection of vegetables that are available.

Also, we can modify our Spaghetti Pomodoro dish, by removing the buffalo
mozzarella, which will then make this dish suitable for a vegan diet.

Always explain to the waiting staff and/or manager on duty of your dietary
requirements and discuss any questions you have with them. We provide all
restaurants with an ingredient breakdown and their suitability and they
will be able to assist you as to your best options.

    Thanks Risker.

I find you sometimes need to persist a bit in chain restaurants because the waiting staff aren't always too clued-up even if the head office is. We went to our local Wagamama the other night and I had to bully the person (politely) into getting the list of what is or can be vegan instead of just speculating about it. It was lucky I knew that they always have one.

I admire your persitence, I find that these shenanigans really sap any pleasure there is in dining out.

I don't mind unless the people are disagreeable, and most are pleasant, I find. (I wouldn't be if I had their job :/)

Thanks for posting the list Risker. On the basis of that info I went for a family meal there at the weekend and could eat several things without adaption (they have the allergy list in each branch so you can check what is vegan even when the menu changes).

The reply from ASK came too late for me (I sent it late as it was a last minute thing) but may be useful to others.

Our pizza bases are completely free of animal and dairy products and are 100% suitable for vegans, as is the pizza sauce. Unfortunately we don't have a vegan cheese in the business but you can leave the cheese off any pizza of your choice.

Our Spaghetti Pomodoro can be made suitable without the addition of Buffalo Mozzarella and the Brushetta and Fettucine Con Verdure are already suitable for vegans; these pastas are not made with egg.

The rosemary and sea salt bread with olive oil or olive tapenade are suitable for vegans as are our sorbets which are dairy free.
