I will not eat anything that walks, swims, flies, runs, skips, hops or crawls.
I would never have considered pizza a vegetable (although it makes quite a good receptacle for them), although I have to admit the first thing that I thought when reading this post was "does this mean that I can eat 5 pizzas a day?"
I heard this on the radio this morning! I can't believe it!!! What has this country come to?
Agreed, Leedsveg!
Some mothers would actually be willing to support that claim! Mothers have defended pizza as a healthy balanced meal for their children. Crust= whole grain, cheese = dairy, pepperoni = meat, oil = fat. Little do they know that eating more than two slices is plain gluttony.
In the defense of pizza, a small portion-controlled pizza made with whole grain/wheat, no cheese, no meat, light tomato sauce & lots of fresh veggies and baked without any oil or butter can actually be a really healthy meal! Especially if they are homemade!
Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace (Schweitzer, 1952)
Isn't the whole point of pizza that it is a ridiculously tasty but unhealthy meal? When we make pizzas at home we throw make them like you'd get from a pizza place.
Anything else seems wrong.
When we make pizza it's totally homemade, spread out into the largest size we can fit in the over, lathered with sauce and piled high with veggies. However, it doesn't look a bit like school pizza. Neither cheese, tomato or dough are vegetables... but that's obvious, isn't it? :S
This is one of the many reasons I question having children.
