Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue are a company I've been following on Facebook and recently they adopted 16 ex-battery hens and have been posting their progress, here is the first post:

Day four of freedom and all are still alive. One of the really poorlies drank by herself today which was great and they all had something to eat by themselves

Six out of the 16 stood up today so ten still haven't the capacity to even stand - what a sick, sick way to treat any animal to have the inability to stand as a result
When they do stand up it will be so exciting for us

Still along way to go but we will do all we can to make sure that their time in hell won't be as long as their time in 'heaven' on earth x

I found it quite difficult to think of at first, the state those poor hens must have been in but now I am so pleased they have been rescued and that Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue are telling people about it.
