Default New "Bean by Bean a Cookbook" by Crescent Dragonwagon

I have just pre-ordered "Bean By Bean A Cookbook" from Amazon UK at a special pre-order price of £6.92 with free Super Saver Delivery.

Have had "a look inside" online, and it looks like a really good buy for bean-based recipes. Not sure whether or not they are all vegan, but should be very easy to adapt if not.

Estimated delivery is 17 - 21 March 2012, and I hope this book will add a new dimension to my vegan meals. It is an American publication, but I can live with the measurements.

    Hi syrius,

I actually received this book yesterday - a month earlier than originally projected by Amazon.

Although I have not yet had time to read all its contents (4 other vegan cookbooks were delivered at the same time), my initial reaction is that it is incredible value for the money I paid.

It does contain some recipes with meat/fish content, but these can be easily adapted with vegan substitutes, and there appears to be merely a few of them.

In total it has 370 pages, excluding acknowledgements and introduction.

    Chapter 1 (pages 1 - 22) - Bean Basics

Chapter 2 (pages 23 - 50) - Hummus, Where The Heart Is - Leguminous Starters

Chapter 3 (pages 51 - 126) - Soulful Simmer - Soups For Spirit And Substance

    Chapter 4 (pages 127 - 156) - Cool Beans - Salads For Every season

    Chapter 5 (pages 157 - 184) - Chili Weather

    Chapter 6 (pages 185 - 212) - Superior Stews, Companionable Curries

    Chapter 7 (pages 213 - 250) - Bountiful Bean Bakes, Comforting Casseroles

    Chapter 8 (pages 251 - 298) - Home On The Range - Simpatico Skillets And Stir-Fries

    Chapter 9 (pages 299 - 318) - Beans And Grains - Earthy Soul Mates

Chapter 10 (pages 319 - 342) - Sweet Beans - In Which Legumes Dessert You

    Pages 343 - 370 cover:
    A Few last Words/Basic Beanery/Luscious Lentils & Other Lovable Little Legumes/Index/Conversion Tables

At the moment it is still available from Amazon for £6.92 with Free Super Saver Delivery, and it has already had one customer review of 4 stars.

    Hope this helps.
